Overview:

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks an Senior Inventory Planner to join the Planning Team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Successful product launches and sustained business growth require agile planning. From the moment market starts to the final moment it is phased out, the planning department is there every step of the way, ensure inventory is being optimized, sales trends are being monitored, and financial plans are being met. Nested within a larger department responsible for allocations and operations, the planning team takes on the role of always approaching solutions via a supply chain lens. As a part of the team, you will manage the inventory procurement process to maximize sell through, profitability and reduction of excess inventory.  The importance of forward-looking inventory planning in coordination with the Planning team will be the key to the ensuring the continued success of Marc Jacobs.

  • Determine the initial split of inventory by SKU by region by channel by delivery across all categories to ensure both Retail and Wholesale channels can launch on time

  • React to production delays by partnering with production to prioritize units by region and propose freight upgrades based on margin and Wholesale cancel risk

  • Partner with Retail Buying and Sales to determine and set allocation priorities by Retail Region and Wholesale customer on a seasonal cadence

  • Create and distribute company inventory and sales-related reporting including:

  • Measurement of company incoming seasonal production to provide visibility on reality of achieving the determined Retail Launch Targets and Monthly Wholesale Outbound Shipping Forecast

  • Weekly update on estimated delivery dates by SKU by region

  • Global excess inventory by SKU by region to fuel and initiate potential reorders

  • Monthly Global Physical Inventory Ownership to identify any inventory gluts and monitor company sell- through

  • Review oversold stock risk – determine the cuts that need to be executed by SKU by channel by customer based on customer priority and margin

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years in an inventory management, operations or planning role

  • Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing best practices

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of retail math

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Organized and able to multi-task

    SALARY & BENEFITS/WHAT WE OFFER: 

    The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000-$90,000  (annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
