So it is our pleasure to announce that we are currently seeking a full-time candidate for the role of Painter to join our team!
By ICL definition, a Painter is someone who is responsible for painting the interior & exterior of all areas of assigned ICL-owned properties. A few additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, landscaping and snow removal. – activities, tasks, and equipment/vehicle usage vary according to the season and individual needs of the program.
To be considered for this role, you MUST first adhere to and understand the requirements and tasks listed below…
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Available Monday to Friday (7:30am – 4pm)
High School Diploma or G.E.D./H.S.E. Certificate – otherwise, a company assessment test is provided
1-2 years of painting and tradesman experience – knowledge of methods/materials used in construction preferred
Ability to operate a motor vehicle using a clean and valid License Photo ID – NYS preferred
OSHA 30 Certified (https://www.oshaeducationcenter.com/images/infographic/osha-30-training.jpg) – a plus but not mandatory
Knowledge of safe, responsible, and organized product usage – ie.: ladders, spray guns, scaffolds, and more…
Heavy Lifting, Pushing & Pulling of up to 50+ lbs – the ability to bend, kneel, squat, and stand for long periods is a MUST
Following all safety guidelines in accordance with the performance of tasks mentioned
Strong communication, writing, and conveying skills – bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatory
Ability to read plans specifications, manuals, and blueprints
Proper attire at all times – this includes work pants, boots, and outer/inner-wear with the ICL company logo (provided)
PAINTER TASKS:
Transport material and equipment to the job site and/or arrange for the transport of heavy or bulky items
Tool Inventory – ensure all tools return to their original site at the end of each workday: tape, brushes, rollers, etc. and maintain simple records and time reports
Prep Surfaces – cleaning, minor repair, and patching of metals, wood masonry, plaster and stucco, drywall, and insulated surfaces; keep shop and work areas in clean and orderly condition, at all times
Protect Work Site – cover furniture, equipment, and floor, mask doors, windows, and other trims where required
Prepare Paint – use equipment, hand mixing, thinning, color matching, and requisitioning supplies as required
Routine caulking, sanding, taping, applications of special finishes and color matching, waxing and polishing of finished surfaces, and glazing as necessary.
Make and install signs using block letters, decals, and free-hand lettering
Use spray shop booths to finish wood, metal, and other materials including associated rigging and handling
Minor repairs to spray and roller equipment: advise substitute materials or colors to improve/expedite work
Performs additional duties as assigned pertaining to groundskeeping concerns: snow removal, raking, grass care
