Celebrating our sweet legacy by providing every guest with an unparalleled customer experience, we are currently seeking a full-time Personal Shopper at our Third Avenue flagship store. This position will directly report to the Store General Manager, with dotted line relationships to other senior management.


The Personal Shopper loves the brand, loves our products, and is passionate about bringing our products and services to life for our customers. He/she must drive sales by delivering extremely high quality customer service and building strong repeat customer relationships. The Personal Shopper is directly responsible for capturing, executing, and managing large sales for high-end customers and any customer with a special request or need both internally and externally. The Personal Shopper must effectively manage store operations, ensuring consistency and compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


The Personal Shopper is responsible for:

+ + Developing and managing a personalized shopping experience for customers by providing new and fresh gifting ideas seasonally, and ensuring that the store follows guidelines and has proper supportive marketing materials

  • Establishing, maintaining, and growing a portfolio of DCB clients

  • Delivering outstanding sales-driven results, ensuring excellent customer service

  • Networking through industry and other events

  • Scheduling, guiding and monitoring all in-store personal shoppers and ambassador sales program

  • Collaborating with buyers in developing new items and recommending products for seasonal ‘must-haves’

  • Managing and maintaining a hotel concierge program within the vicinity of the store

  • Bolstering attendance to store-wide events

  • Educating customers about all Dylan’s Candy Bar services and offerings

  • Strengthening return business by connecting with customers on new merchandise arrival, and/or special events in-store and by recommending merchandise based on product knowledge and customer preferences

  • Performing to the standards set forth by management, meeting and/or exceeding business goals

  • Delivering overall business growth YOY, commensurate with the store’s expected annual growth

  • Regularly communicating business recap with management on sales performance (vs. goals and expectations) – providing strategic action plans if challenges in meeting goals are anticipated

  • Documenting and resolving customer service issues in regards to order inquiries, problems, replacements and exchanges


To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have at least three years of personal shopping experience in a high-end or specialty retail store

  • Must have an established clientele following/existing book of business

  • Excellent customer service skills, who can consistently exceed customer expectations

  • Ability to create a welcoming environment through teamwork and collaboration

  • Strong personal relationships with customers, communicating on a regular basis (in some cases daily) in order to strengthen brand and personal loyalty

  • Demonstrated ability to timely follow-up and follow-through on customer requests and commitments

  • Attuned to networking strategies in order to develop and enhance client base, and creative in converting new customers via research of local social and cultural happenings

  • History of developing long term customer relationships

  • Effective use of available clientele tools and resources to increase business and communication devices to optimize client response time

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business

  • Demonstrated prioritization of customer service over other tasks, whether within own area or throughout the store

  • Comfort and confidence in “playing offense” to build business via cold calling and approaching new customers in and out of our stores

  • Motivated and results driven

  • Crafty and creative with proficiency on the computer for our personalization station

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Must have proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule based on business need, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and is flexible to changing priorities

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and creative problem-solving skills

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
