We are seeking a Porter to join our Building Services team at One World Trade Center. Candidates will create a positive experience by providing superior customer service to building tenants and guests. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, ensuring that designated areas are always clean and well organized.
The work shift needed will be for Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. This position will be responsible for the Loading Dock area.
Salary Range: $21.49 - $28.65 per hour.
Check all areas of the new loading dock.
Clean restroom; Wipe down stalls, sink, faucet, walls, mirrors and stock with toilet paper/paper towels and soap.
Remove garbage in the trash room on C2.
Sweep and mop C2 including the FEL’S.
Sweep and mop all offices on C2.
High and low dusting throughout C2.
Wipe down walls and doors.
Wash out trash dumpsters.
Clean slop sink and supplies at the end of your shift (mop, bucket, etc.).
Report any deficiencies throughout the floor.
Answer all house calls.
Always on standby for emergencies.
Additional work as directed by Supervisor/Foreperson.
Shovel snow and apply salt when needed (seasonal).
Report any building deficiencies to supervisor (ex. chipped paint in corridors, lights out in corridors, damaged walls, or ceilings, etc.).
Report any safety hazards to Building Management.
In case of building emergency or fire, report to lobby and advise appropriate personnel.
All equipment must be maintained and returned to supply room.
In the event that you come across any leaks, floods, malfunction in equipment/machines, immediately contact your supervisor and await further instructions.
Prior office cleaning experience or similar environment
Operate tools and equipment in general custodial work
Meet all schedule and timelines
Understand and follow work directions as provided by supervisor
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Follow instructions per tenant request
Work cooperatively with others
Observe health and safety regulations
Ability to utilize two-way radio to receive information and assignments and report on project and assignment progress from various locations
Work is performed while standing and or walking
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, lifting and reaching
Requires activities that involve being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature, and exposure to dust and chemical fumes
