Columbia University Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow/Assistant in Clinical in New York, New York

Our Psychiatry-Family Medicine Fellowship at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City is a 1-year full-time opportunity for graduates of a U.S. residency program in Family Medicine. Conducted in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and the Center for Family and Community Medicine, our Fellowship focuses on educating a new generation of Family Medicine physicians to develop expertise in the evaluation and treatment of children and adults with chronic illness that emerged after tick-borne infection. Our Center is led by specialists in Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Behavioral Medicine. In addition to tick-borne disease assessment and care, the Fellow will gain knowledge in psychopharmacological, behavioral, neuromodulatory, and integrative medicine approaches to care. The Fellow will participate in clinical care, case conferences, student and resident education, clinical research, journal review, and learn new non-invasive techniques for neuromodulation. Because of the multi-system nature of Lyme disease, the Fellow will become well-trained in optimizing outcome in patients with chronic complex illness associated with neurologic, psychiatric, cognitive, and rheumatologic problems. The ideal candidate is intellectually inquisitive, compassionate, committed to quality care, and enjoys diagnostic and treatment challenges.

The Fellowship starts in spring/summer of 2022. Benefits and compensation are competitive. If interested in applying for this Family Medicine fellowship, please contact Dr. Brian Fallon (Professor of Clinical Psychiatry) at baf1@cumc.columbia.edu or Krishna Desai, MD (Assistant Professor of Medicine) at kmd2180@cumc.columbia.edu
