Amazon Advertising is positioned to grow its share of the online advertising industry due to its unique combination of online retail behavior data, industry-leading cloud services, and a fast-moving startup culture. Privacy and Customer Trust are of paramount important to us as we continue to innovate and grow our advertising business. The Advertising Privacy Team is looking for a seasoned Privacy Expert to contribute to our ongoing efforts.

The Role: You will work to ensure that our products are designed, operated, maintained and protected to maintain customer trust. You will lead high-impact, cross-team Privacy oriented initiatives across Amazon - within Advertising and beyond. You will be primarily responsible for managing initiatives requiring in-depth analysis of impact of EU privacy laws. You will work with product and engineering teams from initiation to deployment, will be responsible for privacy compliance, interfacing with Legal, technical teams, Public Relations, and external parties in relation to Privacy and also driving programs to achieve compliance with new and emerging privacy regulation.

In this highly visible role, you will partner with stakeholders across Amazon to execute a risk management approach, identify risks, and act as a thought leader who recommends and leads risk mitigation strategies with system and product owners across Amazon Advertising. You will work independently with the ability to prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment while supporting multiple, simultaneous programs.

About you: You are a seasoned Privacy Expert looking for a career where you are able to quickly grasp system design, data flows and other technical aspects of systems. You enjoy learning and contributing to aspects about the business, legal, public relations or marketing side of a product. You are an excellent translator between various parts of the business and the technical teams you work with. You function well in ambiguous, dynamic environments. And you have experience operationalizing privacy compliance solutions and identifying and resolving inefficiencies. Above all, you feel strongly about protecting customers.

Key Responsibilities will include:
\* Acting as lead expert for Advertising on EU privacy compliance inquiries and initiatives.
\* Diving deep into Advertising systems to develop a technical understanding of how they work and current privacy and security controls, and articulate compliance implications to relevant teams.
\* Leading compliance and privacy related initiatives to drive adoption of new policies, and frameworks.
\* Developing and leading the end-to-end risk management program from risk identification to executive reporting.
\* Guiding senior leadership to balance risk management concerns and risk mitigations with customer experience while developing product roadmaps.
\* Driving process improvement and control implementation projects in coordination with the service teams. This may include the resolution of audit findings and the execution of projects originated from internal assessments.
\* Evaluating known issues and identifying root causes through end-to-end process evaluations.
\* Leading projects to implement standards, tools, and processes supporting privacy and security.
\* Liaise with privacy and security stakeholders, articulate control implementation and impact, describe considerations for applying privacy, security and compliance concepts encompassing cloud and device environments.
\* Apply a working knowledge of global data privacy, information security regulations and policies to articulate customer/control impact and drive alignment across Advertising teams.
\* 10+ years of experience in privacy, regulatory, or risk and compliance roles.
\* Experience working in AdTech.
\* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\* Strong knowledge of risk management methods and industry best practices.
\* Ability to understand complex business processes and technologies.
\* Analytical decision making with a demonstrated ability problem solve, make decisions in complex situations and drive issues to completion.
\* Proven history of having worked effectively across cross-functional teams and business functions to drive positive change.

\* Experience in data privacy or security compliance in a highly technical environment
\* Experience executing software programs in support of a major compliance effort
\* Have a record of delivery of privacy process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies.
\* Relevant Privacy or Security certifications (CIPP-US, CIPP-EU, CRISC, CISSP, CISM)
\* Experience evaluating the design and effectiveness of privacy controls.
\* Experience in working directly with auditors for compliance assessments.
