We are looking for a seasoned Principal Technical Program Manager to join our Books Ads Demand, Growth and Expansion team and help expand the boundaries and limits of books advertising and supply across the publishing vertical. As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will discover and target opportunities in existing and adjacent book advertising segments, channels, and other access points. In 2021, this includes introducing new ways for authors to build their brands and promote their books on Amazon, as well as expanding advertising capabilities. We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who loves to tackle ambiguous problems to deliver a tailored, customized experience to Amazon customers. This is a high-impact role that requires strategic vision and big-picture thinking, as well as sharp execution, technical depth, analytical rigor, and excellent communication.
A Technical Program Manager (TPM) will partner with engineers, other TPMs, and senior management to help create world-class solutions. Part of your responsibilities will include:
\* Manage cross-team and cross-organization delivery of long-term customer-facing programs.
\* Manage business requirements, design, performance expectations and goals with all stakeholder teams.
\* Partner with other leaders to define business and architectural strategy and build roadmaps for the programs you and your team own.
\* Be responsible for the overall coordination, quality and productivity and will be the primary point of contact for world-wide stakeholders of programs that you run.
\* Manage prioritization and tradeoffs across engineering, customers, and time to market.
\* Drive architecture, engineering and integration decisions and timelines with dependency teams.
\* Establish business processes and policies as well as metrics and indicators for success.
\* Develop, report, and continually improve business performance metrics.
\* Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
\* Architectural design or system design experience independent of an architect
\* 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
\* Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
\* Experience driving roadmap strategy and definition
\* 7+ years of technical program management experience
\* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
