Join us as a Private Equity Analyst
Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. ("BBH") is seeking to hire a Private Equity Analyst to join the BBH Capital Partners ("BBH CP") team. BBH Capital Partners is the Private Equity group within Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., the oldest private bank in the US. In 2019, BBH celebrated 30 years of active principal investing, having successfully managed several funds and investments through multiple economic cycles. Most of the BBH CP team is based out of BBH's New York office, where this position will be located.

Some of your key responsibilities include:
BBH Capital Partners makes both control and minority equity investments in growing, middle-market companies across: Healthcare, Tech/Media/Telecom (TMT), and Business Products & Services. BBH CP seeks to be a value-added partner to portfolio management teams by leveraging the expertise and resources from the Capital Partners team and the broader BBH relationship network to support and enhance operating performance. BBH Capital Partners is currently investing two private equity funds: Capital Partners V ("CPV"), an $800M fund, and CP Opportunities Fund, a $250M fund. The team is actively working to close its last platform investment in CPV in 2020 and is currently raising CPVI (CPVI is expected to be larger than CPV). CP Analysts and Associates have the opportunity to work on investments across funds, providing a variety and volume of deal opportunities that ensure a robust learning environment.
BBH CP Analysts are actively involved in all aspects of the investment process from investment thesis formation, to investment structuring and closing, to portfolio monitoring and support, through exit. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting industry research to develop and test investment theses; creating financial models with scenarios involving different investment, acquisition, capital structure, and acquisition assumptions; developing materials that present the deal team's thesis to the CP team and investment committee; conducting company due diligence; assisting in portfolio company performance monitoring and financing activities; and supporting strategic initiatives at portfolio companies. In BBH CP's consensus-driven culture, Analysts are often asked to present their findings and perspectives to the broader BBH Capital Partners team and often interact directly with management teams at the portfolio companies.

BBH Capital Partners is looking for high-performing candidates with a strong work ethic, exceptional quantitative analytic capabilities, strong oral and written communication skills, outstanding organizational skills, and a desire to grow their responsibility on the team as their capabilities allow. Candidates should have 1-2 years of transaction-related finance work experience, a track record of outstanding academic performance, and the ability to successfully work in teams. The ideal candidates will have full-time work experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or other M&A related finance jobs. The BBH CP Private Equity Analyst is a 2-3-year role, with the option to continue for exceptional performers. BBH Capital Partners is currently seeking qualified candidates that may be interested in either an immediate start (during 2020) or can join during Summer 2021.
