POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Development Associate works closely with Design to ensure all details of modeling of the line are executed accurately, including preparing, updating and distributing reports on samples, trim development, prototype development, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Maintain and review weekly reports with Design team and supervisor on sample status, trim development, submits pending approval, etc.

  • Seasonally, assist on creating pattern development sheet (PDS) or Knit development sheet (KDS).

  • Seasonally assist Design team with updating boards with indexes, including pattern/collar/style # information.

  • Review and note important deadline dates relating to job responsibilities on the seasonal calendar.

  • Prepare and maintain Line List for organizational members and report any issues/delays during the weekly WIP meetings.

  • Work closely with design and tech design to ensure all details of modeling of the line are executed accurately.

  • Review all sale samples with Design to ensure accurate make details/models/labels/trims before distributing to Sales team for market week.

  • Correspond with Merchandiser, VP of Design, Tech Design, GSC- RM, GSC- Supply, and Marketing, Sales, and Planning team with accurate, clear, and timely information related to Brand.

  • Communicating effectively & efficiently with Far East, Africa, India, and Bangladesh offices pertaining to Brand development, changes, & updates.

  • Adapt to new computer systems including PDM; PLM, XPC, Trim system as it relates to job functions.

  • Attend off-site shopping trips with the Design team.

  • Prepare showroom fixture/display with design and sales team prior to Market week.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 1-2 years related experience.

  • Retail experience desirable

Education:

  • Associates or BA Degree

Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to analyze and make decisions regarding product, samples, and production with knowledge of budget and timing impact.

  • Posses a good understanding of the line development process.

  • Quick study

  • Action-oriented and informative.

  • Good decision making and time management skills.

  • Detail oriented and accurate record keeping.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Works well in a team environment.
