Caleres Product Development Manager – Private Brands in New York, New York

We seek an experienced footwear developer who’s innovative and passionate about contemporary footwear to join our Private Brands team in New York.

We seek people who:

  • Have a good working knowledge of leathers, bottom components, sample fitting, upper construction processes and driving seasonal product development

  • Manage the product creation process from concept through production, ensuring delivery in line with critical dates, product specifications and profitability goals

  • Create product specifications, adhere to a product calendar, develop and revise prototypes, understand costing factors and work in a team environment for a lifestyle footwear brand

  • Track and facilitate sampling and prototyping of products, identifying issues in design, construction or manufacturing, adjusting to deliver proven and tested product

  • Maintain knowledge of market and consumer trends, category goals and new technology, leading new model and product introductions

  • Collaborate and communicate with internal teams to proactively manage timelines and facilitate processes

We seek people with these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

  • Experienced footwear product development professional with strong technical skills and familiarity with men’s & women’s casual footwear and sandals

  • Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials and product creation lifecycle

  • PLM experience would be great

  • Self-directed, proactive and able to own the full design and development process

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • CAD experience required
