Industrial Color Production Assistant in New York, New York
The Production Assistant assists all teams in the daily tasks of studio operations. Duties include general studio maintenance, cleanliness and organization, as well as assisting with the Studio's project and sample management databases, and photography sets. Duties include, but are not limited to, set up and strike of photography equipment, painting and maintaining cycloramas, props, sets walls, and studio walls, shipping, receiving, unpacking and prepping product, inventory control, and sample labeling. In addition, they will work side-by-side with client account services leaders, stylists and photographers assisting in providing an elevated studio experience are clients expect from us as their Production vendor. The ideal Production Assistant should have an eye for fashion, and / or desire for a career in digital photography and videography, production or styling, as well as a passion for cultural trends and an energetic work ethic.
Studio cleanliness, maintenance and organization
Photo set construction and strike - including cameras, computer and lighting equipment
Facilitating equipment repairs and maintaining studio supply levels
Management of several web-based databases that contain inbound, in progress and completed work requests
Produce and attach tracking labels to products
Reconcile any shipment discrepancies and alert client specific personnel
Unpack and transport product to sets
Prepare samples for shoots including assembly, steaming and pressing.
Pack up and document outbound product, generate shipping labels and schedule shipment pickup
Assist Stylists and Photographers with the styling or shooting of samples for photography or video.
Study and learn client styling guides and procedures and stay current on these guidelines.
Take direction from stylists and photographers
Apply knowledge of current industry trends
Ensure garments, accessories and styling supplies are cleaned and organized after every shoot
Other duties as assigned
0-2 years of workplace experience associate producer or production assistant.
High level of attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer competency (MS Word, Excel, Google Suite of Apps, etc)
Competent knowledge of photographic grip, lighting and camera equipment
Background in product styling or merchandising, photography, videography or production
Comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline oriented business
Strong sense of fashion in styling or photography
Ability to recognize industry trends.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
This is a part-time, seasonal position.
