TED Conferences LLC Production Manager (Memberships) in New York, New York

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production Manager is a dynamic, experienced and self-motivated individual with the primary mission of fulfilling the full cycle of event management principles and processes in support of TED Memberships.

The Production Manager takes in key responsibilities for the delivery of Member benefits in the form of live, virtual events as part of the TED Membership program. This individual must have a proven track record with an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a large number of internal stakeholders, as well as an ability to work with and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds. In addition, this person is results oriented, a team player with an aptitude to learn, a willingness to contribute, and is the driver for successful results with a passion for making a difference in the workplace and beyond.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Degree (preferred) or diploma in event management, project management or similar discipline

  • 3+ years experience in the event production space

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience, plus significant knowledge of project planning tools with evidence of practical application

  • Ability to make important decisions under pressure, meet competing deadlines and work on multiple events simultaneously

  • Superior organizational skills , with the ability to work with minimum supervision and focused on managing timelines for all event phases ? pre-production, execution and reconciliation - to ensure an excellent outcome

  • A knack for finding efficiencies in workflows and processes, and the ability to communicate these clearly

  • Reasonable knowledge of technical production for virtual events

  • The ability to exercise attention to detail

  • A keenness and aptitude for working in deadline-oriented and fast-paced environments

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing project timelines, operational, and administrative functions to ensure all Membership events are delivered efficiently and on schedule

  • Determine resources and staffing levels needed to execute membership events and work with Staffing lead on procuring staff

  • Drive the timeline with the ability to keep oversight on multiple project deadlines and deliverables

  • Maintains regular and succinct communication, schedules meetings with project stakeholders and team members

  • Use project management software to administer, assign, track and report on all administrative and project tasks to ensure and uphold integrity and timeliness of information

  • Works with Senior Project Manager and Conferences team to evaluate membership programs; develop and maintain an events benchmark to measure ongoing success

  • Work closely with other TED teams working on memberships program (Curation, Conferences, Editorial, Brand Creative, Digital Products)

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and systems to increase efficiencies

  • Collaborate on scheduling key membership related production meetings

  • Asset management - (show assets, event information for marketing etc)

  • Manage creation of pre-show and post show slides + music

  • Day of event coordination including updating Run of Show

  • Willingness to contribute however possible to ensure overall effectiveness of team at large
