NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Program Administrator, MindfulNYU, Global Spiritual Life in New York, New York
The Program Administrator (PA) manages the day-to-day operations of MindfulNYU, including a full capacity yoga studio, a robust meditation program, special events and partnerships across the university and the Global Network, as well as drives and measures the student engagement strategy and implementation efforts, with support from the Associate Director. This includes supervision of graduate and undergraduate students and face-to-face organizing and outreach efforts with underserved populations (students of color, LGBTQ+ students, underserved religious identities, etc). This position coordinates and assesses the full slate of trainings and educational workshops offered by Global Spiritual Life (GSL) within and outside of the university, including all the Zone trainings (Faith Zone I and II, Mindful Zone, Conversation/Belonging Zone). The PA will recruit and manage volunteer trainers from across the university and conduct train-the-trainer workshops as well as open training sessions throughout the year. the PA coordinates the Chaplains, a 70+ group of chaplain affiliates on campus. This includes their annual half-day training in August, monthly professional development opportunities throughout the year, and other special workshops and training opportunities for this population. The PA manages all logistics for GSL’s annual Summer Institute, a training week held annual at NYU for 50+ religious and spiritual life professionals from across the country.
Required Education:Bachelors degree or equivalentPreferred Education:Masters degree in related field, Yoga teaching certification.Required Experience:2+ years of relevant experience in event planning, budgeting, and programming, including experience in mindfulness and meditation instruction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Experience:Experience working in higher education and/or with college students, experience creating programming or engaging in outreach for marginalized populations (people of color, LGBTQIA people, religious minorities, people with disabilities, etc..) Experience generating innovative, fresh and appealing programming. Knowledge and familiarity with photoshop/InDesign and Excel budgeting. Experience creating learning outcomes and measuring success through assessment measures.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work on initiatives concurrently. Formal and relevant meditation training and/or certification in meditation instruction.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:4+ years of formal meditation practice, including at least seven days of meditation retreat experience.
