Role & Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting /Financial Reporting

  • Review and analyze general ledgers for assigned property(s), process journal entries, calculate monthly accruals and update supporting balance sheet account schedules

  • Review and approve A/P voucher, payroll data entries, A/R adjustments, daily cash receipts journal, rent rolls, etc.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for assigned property(s), the corporate department and applicable joint venture partner

  • Review and prepare necessary workpaper reconciliations to balance sheet and income statement in a timely manner

  • Prepare monthly income statement variance analysis and balance sheet analysis

  • Prepare year end expense reconciliations and tenant billings in a timely manner

  • Prepare accounting assessments of tenant leases for assigned properties

  • Monitor daily cash activity, bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.

  • Coordinating debt service payments, including lender reserves, and supporting compliance reporting

  • Forecasting/Budgeting

  • Assist FP&A group in preparation of annual budget package, detailed variance analysis and cash forecasting

  • Assist Valuations group in preparing quarter-end fair values of assigned property(s)

  • Audit

  • Prepare draft US GAAP or IFRS statements and annual workpapers as needed

  • Provide accounting detail and assistance to internal/external auditors

  • Provide financial metrics requested by leasing, operations and capital markets departments

  • Provide accounting support for non-recurring transactions related to assigned property(s) (refinancings, dispositions, etc.)

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred

  • Knowledge of US GAAP (specifically, real estate)

  • 2+ years of public accounting and/or commercial real estate accounting experience preferred

  • Necessary communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical ability

  • Well organized, self starter and able to handle multiple priorities

  • Understanding of property management in relation to financial accounting, recoveries, budgeting and forecasting

  • Experience in Yardi and a proficiency in Excel preferred
