Octagon, Inc. Public Relations Internship, Summer 2020 in New York, New York

This is a hands on 11-week paid public relations internship opportunity for summer 2020 officially launching on Monday, June 1, 2020. Selected interns will get to work on 1-3 client accounts in different practice areas, including Beauty, Retail, Food & Beverage, Lifestyle and Health & Wellness.
Although it varies by team, interns may assist the account staff in a variety of activities including building media lists and writing fact sheets, drafting pitches, media monitoring, assembling clip reports, coordinating creative send outs, event planning & logistics, sitting in on client calls, managing inventory, participating in brainstorms and researching ideas.
You will gain exposure through various opportunities, including:

IPG Intern Mixers
Challenging Group Project and Office-Wide Presentation
Agency Summer Party and other Cultural Initiatives
The successful candidate for the position will have the following qualifications and experience:
Candidates must be able to work full-time (40 hours Monday through Friday),
College students (rising juniors & seniors) and recent graduates pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, or a related field are preferred,
At least one prior PR (or similar) internship is preferred but not required,
Must be able to work quickly and efficiently on a team and adapt to varying communication styles,
Excellent storytelling, verbal and written communication skills,
Collaborative spirit,
Must be able to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines,
Contagious curiosity and creativity,
Passion for the PR industry and our clients brands
