Responsibilities

Principal is seeking a talented Quantitative Developer to join our Real Estate Investment team (PrinRE), which manages over $100 billion in assets. This individual will be a key contributor to strategically aligned initiatives, supporting new and innovative products with the potential to shape the industry. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity to be a true pioneer for a Fortune 500 company and top-10 global real estate manager.
What you will do in this role:
Enable development of advanced statistical analysis and models to support all critical real estate functions investment decisions including, but not limited to strategic risk management, underwriting, performance forecast, and portfolio optimization
Own the data strategy and execution of our R&D efforts and contribute to thought leadership with internal and external stakeholders
Work closely with seasoned investment professionals, engineers, and other stakeholders to scale our ML-driven research platforms and support the needs of our clients
Help create differentiated capabilities through digital transformation by leveraging insights from ways people live, work, and play
Work with data scientists to support feature engineering, model orchestration, and deployment efforts
Define, source, and operate data handling routines to supply required training data for ML jobs
Build robust data pipelines from third party vendors using AWS
Help build the infrastructure needed for rapid experimentation in support of investment decisions
Support research, due diligence, and implementation of third-party data and PropTech solutions being evaluated by various stakeholders within PrinRE
Develop domain expertise with various external vendors

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM plus 8+ years related work experience or a Master's in related field plus 2+ years in related work experience
Experience automating ingestion and use of data into ML services and other applications
Experience orchestrating machine learning services
Comfortable with data modeling concepts and preparation for ease of use
Proficiency with languages like Python, R, Scala
Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML, etc
Cloud computing platform experience (AWS)
Experience with Sagemaker
Commercial Real Estate knowledge a plus

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$87550 - $172800 / year
