Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our New York office as an integral member of the firm U.S. recruiting team and North American recruiting community.

You will be a value-add and collaborative participant of the recruiting team. You will establish effective working relationships with all team members to ensure cohesion and provide your perspectives and concerns as the "voice of recruiting". You will collaborate closely with the recruiting team, office leadership and campus sourcing teams to lead recruiting strategy and candidate life cycle recruiting efforts for the office location. You will also work with the broader associate and undergraduate recruiting teams, global office and practice counterparts to continue to innovate McKinsey's recruiting strategy.

What You'll Do

You will be a strategic and creative leader primarily responsible for driving and managing all aspects of recruiting for associates, business analysts, summer associates and summer business analysts.

In this role, you will lead all recruiting efforts to attract, assess and cultivate talent from core and emerging sources. This includes identifying and building personal relationships with target candidates, managing a high volume of applications and leading and/or supporting large scale interview days, and cultivating relationships in celebrations events.

You will manage a high volume of online applications, process and track applications, monitor candidate assessment results and update candidate management database. You will provide end-to-end management of the office/s candidate round-one and final round pipeline to include strategically scheduling all interview days. You will work with appropriate client service professionals to manage participation. You will facilitate and lead decision meetings as well as manage all candidate data and interview follow up within appropriate tools (e.g. Avature).

You will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing recruiting results and disseminate all relevant information relating to your efforts including developing annual analysis of recruiting results against historical and competitive benchmarks and identifying strategies to improve recruiting initiatives.

Qualifications

2 years of recruiting experience; knowledge of office-based recruiting is a strong plus
Strong strategic thinker; ability to see and manage to "the big picture" while driving impact on specific initiatives
Proactive problem solver capable of identifying issues and generating solutions
Strong analytical/numerical ability including high degree of comfort with Excel
Outstanding organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple streams of work independently
Mindful of external reputation; discreet, respectful and caring with confidential information
Willing to 'get hands dirty' and play an active role in all aspects of the candidate management process
Desire and energy to continuously improve recruiting processes
Demonstrated initiative, judgment and maturity; track record as self starter
Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills; ability to build great relationships with candidates, consultants at all levels and recruiting colleagues
Flexibility to deal with last minute changes; ability to remain calm under pressure
Comfortable working with minimal direction and flexibility to work overtime as required
Ability to look beyond own responsibilities in order to help team members with more urgent deadlines as needed
