Reporting to the Director of Employer Relations and the Director of Employer Outreach, the Recruitment Coordinator supports the web-based recruitment program and general Employer Relations Team programs of the Office of Career Services (OCS) at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
Working with the Director of Employer Relations, the incumbent serves as a coordinator for the on-line career services software, SIPAlink, maintaining the software system, designing announcement pages in html, instructing students on the software's use, trouble shooting problems, and providing statistical research reports generated by the software program. Duties include liaising with other SIPA departments obtaining and uploading eligible student information into SIPAlink.
The incumbent writes and edits (both print and web based) materials distributed to students, employers and graduates, and produces the employment survey for graduating MIA and MPA classes and the subsequent alumni survey. Duties include collecting and analyzing the results for web and print publications internally and externally, updating and maintaining the Employer Relations Team Manual, and supervising the Program Assistant in the production and distribution of the OCS weekly newsletter. The incumbent produces the newsletter during the summer.
The incumbent implements and maintains the Recruitment Program's systems and makes logistical arrangements for campus recruiting activity. Duties include downloading resumes, setting up interview schedules, securing interview and employer information session space and ordering audio visual equipment, attending employer presentations, alumni receptions, luncheons, and career fairs as an OCS representative, and participating in the planning and teaching of 8-10 information sessions per year, Recruitment Program Orientation Sessions and other relevant programs.
Works with the Director of Employer Outreach on research and outreach initiatives. Responsibilities include making phone calls, assisting with mailings, maintaining data in the Client Relationship Management Program, and running reports of outreach outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have at least three years of related full-time experience. Substantial experience with computer programs, including MS Office applications, Word, and PowerPoint, required. The position requires advanced Excel proficiency. Must be highly organized, motivated, and able to balance multiple demands. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, judgment, and initiative essential. Must be reliable, responsible, and flexible and be able to work independently and be a team player.
Bachelor's degree highly preferred. Basic html and a broad knowledge of web-based systems helpful.
