ABOUT THE JOB:
KCDC is seeking a seasoned professional with strong affordable housing and/or Low Income Housing Tax Credit underwriting experience. This individual will manage a team that primarily underwrites and evaluates community development focused low income housing tax credit equity investments. The team may also underwrite and evaluate a limited number of non-tax credit investments

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide guidance and oversight to a team that structures and analyzes financial forecasts for Low Income Housing Tax Credit properties and other investment types, prepares investment write-up and prepares guarantor analyses
Oversee the underwriting and closing process at a team and platform level
Make deal assignments to team members
Review and comment on investment write-ups prepared by the team
Ensure the team partners effectively with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Closers and Asset Managers in connection with credit decisioning, closing, funding and risk mitigation
Maintain and manage strong relationships with internal and external clients

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or urban and regional planning; equivalent experience will be considered
8+ years of tax credit and/or affordable housing experience
Experience working in relationship management teams with a proven understanding of the importance of balancing business development and asset quality
Outstanding credit skills, analytical skills and financial acumen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Ability to function well in a team environment as well as work independently
Demonstrated ability to manage a team of individuals
Strong knowledge of tax credit financing and financing of multi-family real estate developments
