The Regional Vice President (RVP) will act as the General Manager for their assigned region. Within their region, they are responsible for the evolution, optimization, and execution of GBS distribution strategy consistent with GBS's overall objectives.
Major areas of focus are:
Creation and execution of region based strategic and tactical plans
Economic Value Adds (margin)
Partnership positioning and development
Employee engagement and talent development
Cigna enterprise engagement and collaboration
This role will lead/oversee a team in the delivery of state of the art consultative solutions that address the needs of partners, clients and customers.
This position must have demonstrated superior capabilities in; leadership, strategy development and execution, influencing and negotiation skills, distribution management, business owner mindset and ability to successfully lead in an ambiguous and changing market.
Within the assigned region, profitably grow business in a manner that meets or exceeds CGI targets
Develops and executes a regional distribution strategy consistent with Cigna's short / long range goals and business plans
Works with Underwriting, Risk management, Pricing and Financial to develop product and segment growth goals
Responsible for development and execution of Region broker strategy
Develops executive relationships with assigned broker senior leaders, both national and regional
Ensures that Regional Market and HUB Managers develop and execute strategies for their markets
Develops and executes comprehensive employee engagement and talent development plans designed to foster employee retention, career development, professional development and succession planning
Builds collaborative relationships across the enterprise to achieve corporate, financial and market objectives
In collaboration with senior leaders and matrix partners, identifies innovative ways to increase the value and competitiveness of Cigna's solutions for Partners, Clients and Customers
Delivers on both a short and long term business-driven strategic talent plan that ensures the development of a high quality, diverse, industry leading team
Create an environment that leverages ideas, best practices and talent employing corporate-wide resources to benefit local market team
Promotes an organization that strategically builds business and client relationships, has a long-term vision in the market, and rewards/ encourages accountability while recognizing individuality and diversity
On behalf of Distribution, directly manages strategic initiatives and projects as directed by leadership
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree desirable.
Seasoned, respected leader with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the employee benefits or health services industry with specific experience in Group Disability and Life strongly preferred
Demonstrated results in being able to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into both a short-term and long-term organizational plan
Proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; high level of business acumen, including successful P&L management and the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget; allocates resources and manages operating expenses to maximize P&L while managing risk
Proven ability to develop strong customer/producer relationships. Experience and depth of understanding in each of the core dependent areas including Underwriting, Pricing, Risk Management and Service such that they can leverage support needed to deliver the right client professional solution
Enterprise thinker with proven ability to influence across a matrix environment
Ability to develop relationships across all levels of the organization, as well as externally
Demonstrated ability to influence others and utilize resources to accomplish tasks
Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
