RWS Global is currently seeking a Rehearsal Director for their Sea Operations. The candidate will report to the Director of Operations at Sea and should have a minimum experience as a senior manager or supervisor. The Rehearsal Director will have various responsibilities such as scheduling, supervising, interviewing, onboarding, and training employees, maintaining budgets, and creating guidelines.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Creatively look at scheduling of yearly ops, where we can trim, co-teach, split shift etc.

  • Guide and support full time team of 4 and seasonal team of 40+ (including specialty, acro artist/fight directors) for all ongoing operations

  • Vet & interview prospective Show Supervisors for both seasonal and full time

  • Work with talent in the studio for rehearsals, as well as onboard for installs/changeovers.

  • Onboard Seasonal Show Supervisors, Aerial Directors, Fight Directors

  • Train Employees both on the administrative and the creative portions of the job. Ensuring they understand parameters for both RWS, and our clients.

  • Approve weekly timecards

  • Maintain and track budgets for resident direction needs

  • Create, oversea and maintain guidelines and SOPs for rehearsal room/instruction etiquette and documentation

  • Request Uber vouchers for Seasonal Employees

  • Coverage for Resident Production Team when on PTO for any urgent needs

    Additional Qualifications

    Ideal candidates also have:

  • Assistant Director or Choreographer experience

  • Dance Captain experience

  • Cruise ship and/or Theme Park experience

  • Experience with StageWrite application

    Necessary Qualifications

  • A BFA/BA degree in Dance, Theatre, Directing or equivalent professional experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the entertainment industry working in theatre or live entertainment settings

  • A minimum of 2 years in a management position, preferably within a theatre setting

  • 2 years of experience documenting show related materials

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be proficient in Excel and MS Office applications

  • A flexible schedule allowing for approximately 35% international travel
