The Opportunity

The Research Analyst role is part of ACA's Cybersecurity division (ACA Aponix) and will be part of a newly created group focused on thought leadership and product management to support our clients.

The individual in this role will support the launch and growth of new client-facing products and management of existing offerings. The ideal candidate has experience conducting research on technology topics, managing large-scale survey and benchmarking projects, enjoys analyzing data to draw out key insights, and has a track record of conducting primary, interview-based research with C-level executives and technology experts. Strong candidates will demonstrate exceptional writing skills, clear business acumen, project management expertise, and an ability to quickly scope out a problem and zoom in on the right answer for clients.

Above all, a strong candidate will show evidence of entrepreneurial "hustle" or scrappiness - success in this role will depend on an ability to pivot, coordinate with and influence internal stakeholders, and deliver value to clients in creative ways as we build this group from the ground up.

What you'll do:

Participate in the creation of a thought leadership content calendar and plan

Create key monthly and quarterly deliverables (e.g., white papers, case studies, pulse surveys, benchmarking studies, webinars)

Conduct primary, interview-based research with internal experts and clients and carry a project queue of 4-5 key deliverables simultaneously

Produce content for virtual and in-person events (e.g., webinars, executive briefings)

Conduct quick turnaround research on behalf of the consulting team to get answers to clients quickly

Assist in product management of cybersecurity services we offer clients

Catalog "natural language questions" that originate from clients and consultants; look for patterns that might require deeper investigation and/or investment

Support creation of sales collateral (e.g., pitch decks, marketing tear sheets)

To qualify for the role you must have:

Bachelor's Degree

One- two (1- 2) years of related experience

Skills and attributes for success:

Deep intellectual curiosity towards technology topics and domains, especially cybersecurity

Empathy for clients - able to understand issues from a client's perspective

Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

Keen understanding of business economics

Strong project management skills and attention-to-detail

Resourceful, able to articulate creative ways to solve problems and break logjams.

Is agile, willing to shift gears as needed as plans and needs evolve, high tolerance to ambiguity.

Able to operate at different altitudes, going from big picture thinking on some projects to "being in the weeds" on others

Strong MS Office skills

Advanced Excel and data analysis skills

Ability to build strong relationships and engage with multiple stakeholders in different parts of the organization

Has a learning and continuous improvement mindset - learns continuously, and thrives on constructive feedback

Ideally, you'll also have:

Exposure to Salesforce

Experience with survey platforms (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics) and quantitative analysis tools (e.g., SPSS)
