Citigroup Research Associate in New York, New York

The Research Associate is a seasoned professional role in Citi's top notch global CLO franchise. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of research products and client impact. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact. Requires excellent analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Citi Research focuses on delivering high quality investment insights to institutional investors on a global basis with a high emphasis on independence and objectivity in its products and insights.

  • Prepare industry-wide research reports for collateralized loan obligation market as well as relative value against other financial products like

  • Partner with sales, trading, and other Citi research teams and Stakeholders to develop relationship with clients and innovative research strategies

  • Advise a truly diversified global investor base on a broad range of research topics

  • Utilize statistical analysis and computer programming tools to analyze market catalysts and produce in-depth analytical reports that assist clients in investment strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years previous experience

  • Graduate degree and/or CFA preferred.

  • Experience in Credit or Securitized Products Research

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent inter-personal and oral/written communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Secure and maintain applicable licenses

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
