Macmillan Sales Assistant in New York, New York


The Trade Sales Assistant will provide general support and assistance to the Barnes & Noble Adult Sales Team. The major responsibilities include monthly prep for B&N sales appointments, creating seasonal PowerPoint Title Preview presentations, and attending weekly and seasonal meetings. This position also gathers and distributes daily, weekly and monthly sales reporting. This role reports to the B&N Senior National Account Manager.

What you'll do:

  • Provide general administrative support to National Account Managers (NAMs) as needed (i.e. coordinating the delivery of sales assets, running reports, managing account ARC mailings, maintaining a regular schedule of key account appointments, etc.)

  • Monthly Sales Prep–Assist NAMs with Edelweiss Collections creation and organization.

  • Seasonal Preview Presentations–Organize and create account PowerPoint presentations.

  • Sales reports–Gathering sales data from accounts and internal systems and distributing that data internally including regular daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.

  • Handling time-sensitive requests, including account requests efficiently

  • Liaise with the Editorial, Marketing & Publicity, and other internal groups, to maximize sales efforts and efficiencies.

  • Backup in the production and distribution of a monthly sales e-newsletter.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of consumer, and industry trends.

Ideal Experience/Education:

  • Some publishing experience a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree
