POSITION SUMMARY:
Opportunity to understand book publishing process, supply chain, and inner-workings of trade sales team
Get to know key customers and reps throughout the Americas and play an active role supporting team strategy and workflows
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports local and remote team selling print and digital books to third party customers in the Americas
Frontline on sales communication going to shared inbox; embraces a customer-centric approach to ensuring special sales, customer needs, new account setup, and adoption queries are answered in a timely and helpful manner and misplaced queries reach the right stakeholder within Springer Nature
Prepares and/or coordinates sales materials for regular outreach and sales calls including presentations, newsletters, and catalogs
Responsible for regular sales reports used to evaluate results and inform team strategy including monthly or quarterly commission statements for external reps
Admin tasks include but are not limited to the scheduling and coordination of internal and external meetings and events, basic quotations, and bibliographic data verification
Special projects as needed
Frequent internal communication with trade sales, marketing, publicity, credit, logistics, fulfillment, and customer service colleagues
Regular external communication with key accounts and commission sales representatives
Constant email interactions in response to internal and external queries
REQUIRED BACKGROUND :
Ability to commute to New York City office (according to reopening guidelines)
Bachelors Degree plus minimum 1 to 2 years experience
Must be highly organized, collaborative, and self-motivated
Strong oral and written communication skills required
Must be proficient in MS Office
