Calling all beauty PR pros! Kaplow is looking for a motivated and collaborative Senior Account Executive (SAE) or Account Supervisor (AS) (depending on experience) to support our work with CVS Beauty and other beauty/wellness clients. The ideal candidate will have strong consumer media relationships and a proven track record of success with a portfolio of placements. We are looking for someone who is excited about the ever-changing media and editorial landscape, with a passion for the beauty and wellness industries.
The candidate plays a critical role developing strategies and managing projects with several team members. This position will require daily interaction with the client, have a key role in the preparation of PR/communications plans for clients and is expected to consistently deliver superior media relations results for clients.
While NYC area candidates are preferred, this role allows for flexible remote working.
POSITION REPORTS TO:
Account Director and above
RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
Serve as a key day-to-day client contact, gaining and maintaining client confidence in ability to strategize, execute and anticipate
Develop and implement programming that generates meaningful results for clients
Write impactful client recommendations, press releases, pitches, client memos and other materials
Run meetings and calls, speaking frequently and with confidence; able to present ideas and concepts effectively
Establish and build strong relationships with key media, consistently securing earned coverage that meets client objectives
Manage time and responsibilities in an often fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proactively mentor and manage junior team members
Participate in new business pitches, as needed
3+ years plus years of public relations experience.
Established relationships with beauty and lifestyle media and a proven track record of coverage
Ability to think critically, creatively, and strategically with a keen attention to detail
Experience providing top notch client service, including excellent communication and writing, strong account management skills and an eagerness to jump in and contribute
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure deliverables are error-free and nothing falls through the cracks
Leadership skills that inspire the confidence of supervisors, clients, direct reports and colleagues
Strong presentation skills
Outstanding judgment when working with team members, clients, media and vendors
Ability to quickly grasp business needs and priorities, connecting the dots and communicating these updates in a timely manner
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related discipline
