Ketchum Inc. Senior Account Executive in New York, New York
H&S has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Account Executive to join our team for a temp project (this is not a fulltime role). This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, self-starter with strong media relations skills, a fluency in the social and digital landscape, excellent communication and organization skills.
About the Job
Proficiency in writing and editing materials including proposals, strategy, messaging, correspondence, blogs, social media content, and reports (must be proficient in PowerPoint)
Serve as the day-to-day contact and respond to client requests, ensuring they are taken care of in an efficient manner
Strong media contacts across various verticals (consumer, business, tech) and able to pursue press coverage for brands/products, events, brand executives, etc.
Secure event/entertainment press for client event or celebrity news as applicable
Previous experience working with social influencers, bloggers and celebrities on programming initiatives
Help to create and generate news with existing client program and product for seasonal pitches; identify opportunistic media angles as they come up in current events, etc.
Comfortable negotiating press worthy partnerships, maximizing value for all parties, and executing deliverables
Strategic thinker (sees the big picture) - experience building brands ( launching or re-launching brands a plus), able to define and create marketing/activation strategies
Stay informed and help keep team members and the overall agency aware about relevant industry news and on clients’ competitors
Drive effective implementation of projects, identify appropriate resources, and delegate work appropriately. Manage clients, people, and projects, deliver highest quality work on time and on budget, and provide timely progress reports.
Provide strategic guidance to clients, anticipate needs and issues, troubleshoot problems.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field
Three plus years for SAE of experience in a public relations agency or similar position in a non-agency setting
Demonstrated full range of communications knowledge and network of relationships to achieve clients’ business goals
Solid media relations experience, with extensive network of contacts within travel, hospitality and lifestyle space
A huge plus would be someone with thorough understanding of the travel and hospitality industry - media, bloggers, thought leaders, tending artists and competitive landscape
Excellent writing and presentation (both written and verbal) skills and a strong work ethic
Ability to spot digital trends and insights and share with teams in order to mobilize, develop, and motivate
Ability to create and present program recommendations and sell into clients when appropriate
Ability to work across multiple offices on a multifaceted team
Experience interfacing with senior level client contacts
