As our Business Continuity Senior Business Analyst, you will analyze critical business functions across AXIS and define the scope and impact of disaster scenarios as well as design, plan and implement an enterprise-wide business continuity and disaster response coordination initiatives for AXIS Capital. The role will report to the Head of BCP and will collaborate heavily with a cross-functional team including Business Technology, Finance, Underwriting, Investments and Operations. You will define and organize business impact assessments, criticality analyses, and bi-directional trading plans, and low fidelity operating platforms used in the event of a man made or natural disaster.

You will also analyze existing systems and recommend redundant, fault-tolerant solutions to ensure business continuity and duplication of all critical data. You will also devise, schedule and implement business continuity tests, and then analyze the results.

Ensuring the ability to trade with key partners in the event of a disaster is critically important pre, during, and post event. This role will have direct interaction with the senior leadership in determining our “low fidelity” approach to running our organization during an event, you will work with our Risk organization in measuring the effectiveness of our plans, and testing and monitoring our plans.

How You'll Contribute

  • Centrally understands and drives BCP technology requirements. This includes development of BC Planning system requirements, identifying improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and ensure alignment with changes to BCP lifecycle. This would include the utilization of existing data and BCM software to analyze and develop KPIs and dashboards for reporting purposes.

  • Conducts, communicates, and maintains business continuity lifecycle planning, coordinates the development, review, and evaluation of risk assessment, business impact analysis and business continuity plans.

  • Develops and coordinates facilitation of enterprise-wide event exercises, continuity software management and training.

  • Oversees and assists in the development, maintenance and testing of business continuity plans which are designed to protect critical business functions during disasters and other disruptive events.

  • Conduct Business Impact Analysis and analyze potential risks and business impacts that can result from different types of business disruptions.

  • Recommend procedures and processes that can improve organizational resilience based on business impact analysis and testing findings

  • Track and ensure the remediation of findings that result from tests and assessments

  • Design and test recovery, restoration, mitigation, and prevention strategies.

  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate business continuity plans that address critical business needs and trading plans

Who You Are

  • At least 5 years of business continuity, disaster recovery, or crisis management experience

  • IT direct or indirect support experience, demonstrated written, verbal, analytical, research, customer service, and interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective internal client relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in BCP documentation, including Risk Assessment, Business Impact Analysis and BC Planning

  • Understanding of insurance process flows including finance, underwriting operations, IT, claims, distribution, and back office.

  • Demonstrated ability to listen, learn, and ask thoughtful questions that help surface risk

  • Ability to engage at all levels of the organization to drive results.

  • Proven track record of working with and leading cross functional teams

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and documentation skills

  • Experience in project management or business or systems analysis
