Responsibilities

As a member of the ES&I Data and Analytics Solution team, you will help to identify and build new transformational solution offerings for our clients whilst working with various Guidehouse Market Teams to support clients on their data and analytics journey. You will provide subject matter expertise for cross-functional projects, support data and analytics initiatives and discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities for Guidehouse’s client network. In this role, you will demonstrate a drive to disrupt the energy industry data and analytics space; with an entrepreneurial spirit that employs both technical and business problem solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior Consultant within ES&I Solutions, you will work with the Data & Analytics team to develop data and analytics solution offerings and support the identification of new areas of growth opportunities

  • You will support client delivery working with high performing Guidehouse Market Teams to help clients recognize and maximize the value of their data, define their information strategy, architecture, and governance, get the most value from business intelligence and analytics and implement data management/data quality solutions to enable business insights, reduce cost and complexity, increase trust and integrity, and improve operational effectiveness

  • You will be hands-on contributing to solution offering marketing and delivery materials through development of documentation, presentations, templates and tools

  • You will define client information, architecture, and governance strategies

  • Help clients get the most value from data, business intelligence and analytics

  • Support the creation of value proposition, qualitative/quantitative return on investment and alignment to strategic and organizational objectives

  • You will derive client business needs and requirements and develop/enhance solution offerings, client proposals, and project deliverables

  • You will contribute to the enhancement of Guidehouse’s data and analytics methodologies, best practices, and approaches to client delivery

  • Support the identification and growth of new vendor relationships and define joint go-to-market strategies to drive new opportunities across Guidehouse’s client network

  • You will contribute to industry thought leadership and promote Guidehouse’s market position in the data and analytics space through market research, marketing strategies, internal and external presentations, blogs, and industry insight piece

  • You will work with and mentor other consultants and provide knowledge transfer across our market team staff to promote their capabilities in the analytics solution offering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years working experience in related fields

  • Experience with Utility business functions and processes

  • Experience developing business & functional requirements and working with a technical team to translate to technical requirements/design

  • Implementation experience across the full delivery lifecycle from strategy through execution

  • Strong written & oral English communication skills with ability to fluently converse in English

  • Ability to collaborate and work in a dynamic team environment as well as the ability to work independently

  • Ability to be strategic and creative while remaining detail-oriented and process focused

  • Ability to effectively communicate with client stakeholders and articulate data and analytics alignment to organizational goals and objectives

  • Hands-on experience with some or all of the following areas:

  • Defining data strategies

  • Defining, implementing, and operationalizing data governance bodies, including typical data governance policies, processes and standard

  • Organizational change management and communications

  • Defining and applying data quality and master data standards, using various vendor solutions to profile the data for issues and collaborating with data consumers for remediation

  • Translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions

  • Experience and skilled with Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI)

  • Working knowledge of data management and data solutions and best practices

  • Experienced and skilled with PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio

  • Experienced and skilled with at least one or more data, process, and architecture modeling toolset

  • Able to work on multiple projects and provide either remote or on-site support based on client expectations

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy science, computer science, management information systems, economics, mathematics, or business

  • Business fluency in other languages

  • Experience gathering requirements and building data visualizations in Tableau

  • Experience with ETL tools

  • Demonstrated technical skills with data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica

  • Relevant industry certifications demonstrating knowledge of data architecture

  • Certification(s) in technology used to manage and analyze data

  • Familiarity with and demonstrable passion for the following is a bonus:

  • Energy (e.g., advanced energy technologies, electricity power and gas industries, neural grid networks)

  • Innovation (e.g., advancement of new ideas and technologies)
