The Advisory team provides strategic capital projects advisory services for major programs in the infrastructure market across all phases of the business life cycle, informed by our operational knowledge and deep functional expertise. By integrating capital projects, strategic and technical expertise, we serve the "whole client" relationship, from the executive leadership to those who procure and deliver projects and operations. Driven by a rapidly expanding infrastructure market, increasing demand for our services and an expanding portfolio large programs and projects, we seek a talented and dynamic individual, with significant relevant experience, to join our busy, vibrant team based in the United States. The position is an immediate opening, intended to on-board in Summer/Fall 2024.

We are regarded by public sector authorities and financial institutions alike as one of the leading providers to buy and sell side technical and advisory services. We help our clients succeed by identifying and mitigating risks, and solving their toughest problems, including how to deliver and finance projects in the built and natural environment space, given the trend towards decarbonized, resilient, socially equitable outcomes.

Our highly energized, globally collaborative team of consultants plays a vital role in delivering these solutions and need to display high levels of analytical rigor alongside thought-leadership, tenacity, agility, and organizational skills daily. You will be experienced in and responsible for leading multi-disciplinary project teams, drawn from across the Jacobs business to execute and deliver solutions for clients. You will be comfortable providing strategic advice to senior leadership within client organizations as a trusted advisor; including in areas such as vision and strategy development, operating model design and development, strategic risk, maturity and readiness assessments, developing of business cases and awareness of current government standards and best practice initiatives. A key aspect of the Advisory service is the positioning and shaping for wider program opportunities. As a member of our Advisory team, you will be part of our team developing prospects, acting as a lead on sales activity to deliver sustainable growth and supporting strategic positioning for specific opportunities.

This involves working closely with our project teams to identify how best we can support our clients, building our Advisory market position and winning profitable work. This includes across the Americas and contributing to global opportunities as required. You will provide appropriate guidance and mentorship to help develop less experienced team members and be an active member of our communities of practice. Position Summary and Responsibilities: Interface with markets, prospects and clients for engagement prospects/lead generation, strategic positioning and value proposition development, including internal coordination across practice network and corporate geography (principally the Americas excluding the Caribbean) Interface with our major programs team to deliver program advisory services. Lead and manage pursuit strategies for service offerings, develop proposals and lead presentations to clients Lead and manage client-facing assignments providing strategic analysis and high-level capital & transaction advice on infrastructure project development and procurement (traditional and alternatives models) across the Americas and Caribbean. Assist with growing the Market Solutions Advisory practice in the US through regular communications and collaborations with Jacobs Client Account and Sales Managers across the national organization. Assist existing leadership with transitioning project opportunities through early positioning strategies and into project initiation.

Direct teams while conducting strategic analysis, due diligence, present findings to clients and implement follow-on programs. Lead procurement of projects, development of procurement option analysis, bid documentation, conduct bid reviews and evaluation, facilitate negotiations and provide recommendations for award Preparation of option analysis, due diligence and benefits/cost assessments; generate draft and final technical and commercial reports, present findings and respond to queries for public and/or private client work; Work on time-sensitive projects such as: strategy development, due diligence, risk appraisal, project monitoring, financial analysis, demand, revenue and CapEx/OpEx modeling, performance modeling, business case and economic appraisal Represent the firm, promote the brand, and present thought-leadership at industry events, conferences and leading international symposia Self-manage assignments and be accountable for deliverables; and Travel may be required to accommodate client needs and review of asset locations, and often remote working is actively encouraged and embraced. However, the position will be primarily based out of the New York office of Jacobs.

  • A postgraduate or professional qualification in planning, engineering, economics, business administration (MBA), finance, or related field.

  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making competence with the ability to delegate, motivate and empower individuals and teams.

  • An ability to work effectively as part of a wider team and to share ideas and expertise with team members to support ongoing learning and improvement.

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, qualitative, strategic thinking, communication ability and decision-making skills.

  • Experience of producing high quality technical reports.

  • Have experience in one or more related sectors (e.g. rail, aviation, ports and waterways, highways and toll roads, social infrastructure, energy and power, water, vertical infrastructure such as buildings and telecoms) required.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and clearly, using succinct tools; build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Able to work well with people at all levels from C-Suite to external teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to establish and meet deadlines/budgets. Have a keen interest in sectors we serve with an eye for identifying synergies and future trends.

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills to lead meetings and build relationships across operational and sales teams.

  • Strong organizational, management, analytical and research skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at any one time

  • Experienced in working within teams within fast-paced environment. Exceptional listening, communication, influencing and presentation skills.

  • Experience of industry project and program management standards and practices including management of risk Have an awareness in one or multiple industry standards (e.g. procurement models, design and build standards, maintenance standards, asset management standards, contract standards).

  • Advanced user of spreadsheets, including a clear understanding and commitment to modeling best practice.

  • Experience of leading the development and use of business models including demand and revenue, feasibility studies, performance, business case economic appraisal, construction and operating & maintenance costs.
