The Senior Director, Collegiate Partnerships will serve as an integral part of both the Global Sales and Global Partnerships corporate leadership team, providing support to all collegiate partnerships where Legends is executing on naming rights and founding partnerships, sponsorship sales and / or multimedia rights. In this role, the Senior Director, Collegiate Partnerships will serve as an expert for Partnership leaders at the property level by providing guidance on industry best practices, emerging categories, industry trends, etc. and integrate learnings into the sales process. The ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for sales development and positive enthusiasm for collaboration with teammates. The Senior Director, Collegiate Partnerships will report to the Vice President, Collegiate Partnerships.
Develop staffing structure for each project and assist leadership team with the recruitment, hiring and on-boarding of team members
Develop and execute process to transfer existing sponsor rights agreements and radio affiliate agreements from project incumbent to Legends
Assist project leads with analyzing open categories and developing strategy to engage prospective brand partners
Assist project lead with identifying expiring project rights holder agreements and developing comprehensive renewal strategy
Assist project lead with developing annual strategic business plans and gross revenue and EBITA projections
Be leaders in identifying new trends and best practices across the sports and entertainment industry to ensure we continue to bring innovative solutions to our partners
Identify opportunities to engage Global Partnership’s team to assist with on campus sales opportunities
Develop relationships with Athletic Directors and senior leaders via phone calls, on campus visits, meetings, etc.
Responsible for achieving gross revenue and EBITA goals across all collegiate sponsorship partnerships
Other responsibilities as identified and requested by leadership team
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
Minimum 10 years of sponsorship experience, preferably across both professional and collegiate properties
Proven track record in pitching, negotiating, and closing long-term, seven figure integrated marketing partnerships
Knowledge of the broader sports sponsorship and partnership programs in the industry
Ability to manage a high level of detail across multiple projects and to prioritize efficiently
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to develop strong working relationships with partners, teammates, and other stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Be able to easily adapt to situational changes and tight deadlines
Resourceful, innovative and forward thinking
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
