This role sits within the Financial Industry Advisory Services (FIAS) practice here at Alvarez and Marsal France. A& M FIAS revolves around three core areas of expertise; Performance Improvement, Bank Restructuring and Regulatory Advisory. Financial institutions are facing a more and more challenging transformation agenda requiring more disruptive approach regards to Digital Technology, Operational Efficiency, Customer Engagement & Cost Reduction.

**The purpose of the role:**

A& M's is looking to hire at the Senior Director level to work within a growing team advising clients across a broad range of Financial Services (FS) performance improvement and digital transformation mandates. We are looking to hire someone who has a successful track record within the digital transformation space, combining a blend of operational and commercial skills, an entrepreneurial approach and networks across the Digital community.

We have a local team in Madrid and resource globally and specifically within European across our UK, Germany, France and Netherlands practices, to name a few. A& M seamlessly draws upon the expertise of global, integrated teams of functional and industry professionals to meet clients' needs. In addition to aligning these core offerings, we partner a lot on client projects with our colleagues across the practice such as Private Equity, Corporate Transformation, Restructuring, Transactions Advisory & Valuations.

We are looking for a business entrepreneur determined to make a difference and not afraid to challenge the status-quo. Supported by the European Performance Improvement team, you will help build the profile and reputation of A& M within the Spanish and broader European FS Digital arena.

This role will overhaul our Financial Services clients digital services and channels while growing a team and meeting the company's objectives through online transformation, improved online customer experience and a more effective digital product range.


Assignments may range from advising and executing on identified performance improvement initiatives (revenue growth, cost optimization, digital transformation), undertaking due diligence projects, performing interim management roles or working across other complex strategic issues facing clients.

Specifically, the team will be tasked to:

- Coordinating with our European A& M Performance Improvement team and broader A& M service lines on developing our growing FS Digital service offerings;
- Lead delivery of projects from the initial Points of View/Due Diligence phase to assess opportunities to improve financial /operating performance and implement findings and recommendations;
- Initial rapid diagnostic into a company's immediate and future major operational issues, digital propositions, product profitability, cost base, processes and overall options for performance improvement;
- Provide change leadership & management support for leadership teams, and businesses more broadly, to successfully adopt and embed new technologies and ways of working.
- Develop programmes to implement transformational change which will enable our Financial Services clients to deliver products and services which are efficient and highly effective of high-quality and user-centred;
- Design, own and evaluate organisational transformations and delivering large scale Digital change that add value from data and information
- Plan accounts strategy for long-term profitable growth and position A& M as a thought partner and business leader within the account;
- Leverage strong domain knowledge in the Digital industry to understand customer's business aspirations and challenges and design comprehensive transformation propositions.
- Using your networking & consultative skills, you will be responsible for our relationships with the CIO, CTO, CDO and Chief Architects and other similar level roles as needed within our FS customer base
- Resource mobilisation, ensure the right resources are engaged at the right times to ensure flawless technical sales execution across multiple workstreams.


The Senior Director we are looking forwill have a proven track record of successfully creating and implementing a digital change agenda for FS clients, as well as a wealth of experience in designing digital products and services that solve both conventional and complex business solutions.


- Significant industry experience in the delivery of FS digital performance improvement within the sector in the Spanish and European market from either a Top Tier niche consultancy or Big 4 advisory firm;
- Well established leadership experience, with the above outlined advisory experience. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have a demonstrable track record of corporate, line management experience, probably in earlier career;
- Operational experience of delivering performance improvement & digital transformation mandates, across the following areas:
- Initial rapid diagnostic into a company's immediate and future major operational issues, product profitability, cost base, processes and new or enhanced digital options for performance improvement;
- Evaluating both cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities
- Developing and implementing a new operating plans to improve the business operational performance;
- Ability to interpret client requirements and present it in a clear and meaningful way, including how this could impact strategy, revenue streams or wider business issues;
- Strong ability to conceptualize, summarize, and provide key messages to clients and/or senior levels and consultant teams alike;
- A significant and well-developed senior network across the Financial Services business leader communities; In addition, able to demonstrate a successful track record in converting FS business contacts and leads into sustainable, profitable revenue streams;
- Reads people accurately; can diagnose strengths, weaknesses, and potential; knows what skills are required to fill a job or role; hires the best;
- Hands-on and non-hierarchical operator who is equally effective in managing up and down and relates well at all levels and cultures, in a collegiate partnership environment;
- Knowledge of the contemporary digital landscape of complex organisations and experience of bringing leading technology and process optimisation practices to an organisation to drive sustainable improvements in business performance
- Must be in tune with current market demand around application development, AI, robotics through to cloud based transformation, digitisation as well as optimisation of existing technology.
- Native/fluent Spanish & English language skills are essential along with excellent writing skills;
- Excellent analytical skills including financial modelling (Excel) and strong presentation (Powerpoint) skills;
- Ability and right to work & travel within the EU without restriction to client sites, at short notice as required;
- A high-grade degree qualification from a top tier university;


- Proven people and function leadership skills through a partner/matrix community, partnering across multiple departments and services lines;
- Additional qualification levels (such as MSc or MBA);
- You already have established client relationships with CXO's and senior executives in the FS market, ideally including Front office technology and Ops;
- Additional European languages (in particular French or German) are highly desirable.
