We are currently seeking a full-time or part-time dedicated Engagement Quality Reviewer Director or Senior Manager to primarily oversee the quality of engagements and perform engagement quality reviews withing our CBIZ Marks Paneth division. In addition to performing EQR there are the expectations that such individual will assist engagement teams in learning and applying new accounting and auditing standards as applicable and assist in preparing materials and deliver training to the professional staff and Partners/Shareholders on complex assurance issues. The EQRs are expected to promote and uphold the professional standards at the highest level of integrity. In addition, as opportunities present themselves this individual, work on internal or external client projects, provide direct client service. Although this is a full-time job posting, consideration of a part-time roll can be considered around our business season requirements. Remote is fine.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

Maintain steady contact with engagement team members on assigned clients throughout the business year.

Review financial statement drafts and applicable working papers to ensure compliance with applicable professional accounting and auditing and Firm policies and procedures. This includes:

Involvement as the EQR in engagement team planning meetings.

Evaluate engagement documentation including, planning and audit programs, internal accounting controls, substantive testing and reporting documentation.

Follow the progress of the work to assist engagement teams in meeting client deadlines.

Be sensitive to the client's view of our services including the conduct of the engagement.

Keep the Shareholder (Partner) informed on a timely basis as to all important engagement developments. They should also present to the Shareholder the major problems that occur, with all of the facts, their conclusions and recommendations.

Resolve problems with the Shareholder's approval as engagements near completion.

Follow financial statement drafts through processing, answer any questions that arise and submit the report to the Shareholder for final approval and signature.

Assist the Shareholder with complex discussions with clients, the client's attorneys, taxing agents and other parties.

Review AUC-260 and AUC-265 communications to clients prior to issuance.

Enhance the Firm's reputation and their own by conducting seminars, making speeches and having articles published in professional journals.

Motivate and assist staff members in their professional development.

Represent the Firm in deliberations with client executives and their representatives.

Enhance the Firm's reputation through excellence in practice before the professional community and regulatory agencies.

Develop strong relationships with employees while enhancing productivity.

Develop and evaluate staff

Communicate performance issues and concerns with appropriate employees and upper level management

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate should have recent experience serving audit, review and compilation engagements; preferably with a mid-size or regional public accounting firm serving small to middle-market based clients. Big-4 experience a plus.

Familiarity with IFRS & IAS, SEC & PCAOB, Yellow Book and EBP is a plus.

Experience as an EQR and/or relevant involvement in firm attest standard setting experience is also an expectation.

Candidates should be prepared to meet challenging client requirements, provide value added services and should possess strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and analytical skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Public Accounting, a bachelor's degree in accounting and be a licensed CPA.

Must possess a high level of proficiency in US GAAP and US GAAS

Must have and preserve required licenses

Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary

Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally

Proficient use of applicable technology

Must be able to travel based on business needs
