SENIOR MANAGER, INDIVIDUAL GIVING

Reports to: VP, Development

Target Start Date: November 2, 2021

Location: DoSomething.org has its headquarters in NYC. As a result of COVID-19, DoSomething staff are working fully remote. DoSomething is exploring a hybrid return to office approach with a target of winter 2021. Preferably, candidates will be based in the New York City Metro area, but candidates in other locations within the U.S. will be considered.

THE POSITION

DoSomething is seeking a creative, tenacious Senior Manager of Individual Giving to drive the creation and implementation of our individual giving strategies at a time of growth and innovation within the organization. Reporting to the VP of Development, the Senior Manager contributes to the mission and vision of DoSomething.org by reaching annual giving goals, executing events and donor engagement opportunities, and managing key databases to ensure a data-driven approach to fundraising.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Donor Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship (70%)

  • Prospect, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and new donors and prospects.

  • Build an individual donor prospect strategy that works to actively diversify the organization’s donor base, in pursuit of the organization’s goal of becoming an antiracist organization.

  • Strengthen the donor experience by preparing personalized correspondences, donor updates, invites, etc.

  • Develop compelling cases for support that can be adapted as part of impact reports, solicitations and personalized donor communications.

  • Support the CEO and the VP, Development in managing the individual giving portfolio by composing prospect briefs and data reports, and build the capacity to.segment our donor pipeline and donor experience to cultivate and steward major donors, mid-level donors, and annual donors.

    Departmental Leadership and Initiatives (20%)

  • Partner with leaders across the organization to ensure that the donor portfolio is engaged through meetings, events, and campaign engagement opportunities.

  • Draft and implement the organization's annual fundraising calendar, including taking a leadership role in overseeing DoSomething’s annual gala.

  • Manage special projects to further the department’s goals as assigned by the VP, Development.

  • Represent DoSomething to key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, major donors, prospects, and more.

    Internal Reporting, Planning, and Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)

  • Develop protocols for the systematization and utilization of a CRM to maintain data-driven systems and structures to support weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • You love to fundraise. You come with 5-6 years of direct experience in individual giving and donor relations, ideally with gift sizes of five figures or greater.

  • You are seriously passionate about what we do. You believe in the collective power of young people and you’re obsessed with getting young people across the globe to take action on important social issues.

  • You are known for your strong communication and interpersonal skills . You want to tell everyone you meet about our work, and you do. You can develop messaging with clear narratives and your on-brand storytelling capabilities make you the “it” person in the room.

  • You’re flexible and able to pivot quickly to prioritize donor needs . You’re practiced in customizing your approach, and calibrating to different communication styles.

  • You are proficient in GSuite and have demonstrated knowledge of CRMs and prospecting tools and techniques (e.g. Salesforce).

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team. Must be able to take initiative on new projects while possessing a “get it done” approach. Must know how to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Obsessed with data. Able to leverage data to drive the creation of new strategies, design and execute processes, and set and track KPIs.

  • Excellent relationship management skills. Must be able to approach all interactions in a way that conveys high emotional intelligence and demonstrates respect and connection. Is able to articulate the importance of the organization’s work in a compelling manner.

  • Annually on August 1, candidate profiles from 3+ years prior will be entirely deleted from our system.

    Is your data secure?

  • JazzHR maintains secure job board pages. Job boards will default to HTTPS. Additionally, if we were to terminate our contract with JazzHR our candidate data is deleted from JazzHR’s systems in accordance with JazzHR’s Terms of Service.
