In close partnership with the VP of IT Infrastructure & Operations and incoordination with our Sourcing team, you will help us build and lead the IT Vendor Management Office that will establish a new operating norm for all new and existing vendor engagements. From inception to off-boarding, you will provide the vision, strategy, and direction for the IT Infrastructure and Operations Vendor Management function. Working with our StrategicSourcing partners, you shall implement new processes and standards thatensure Splunk and the vendor deliver on their deliverables and obligations,whilst improving operational efficiency and compliance. You will develop and cultivate an ongoing relationship with IT, Finance, Procurement and Sourcing partners as well as external vendors from the earliest stages of vendor engagement to service performance and, finally, through off-boarding.

Partner with the Supplier Relationship Manager in implementing Splunk’s Supplier Relationship frameworks and guidelines.
Provide leadership and set the mission and vision of the IT VMO in alignment with the strategic and operational objectives of the IT Infrastructure and Operations organization and it's business partners
Support contract negotiation efforts led by Sourcing and ensure supplier compliance of agreements to policies and practices
Influence the practices and implement processes, tools, templates, and systems for use in vendor management, vendor services implementation, and ongoing performance monitoring and management
Drive operational excellence through effective program management of the IT organization's VMO objectives.
Manage, build and effectively optimize vendor relationships. Partner with Supplier Relationship Managers to assist with concerns, facilitate issue resolution, optimize vendor performance and drive cost savings
Partner in building and managing a $90M vendor budget in portfolio area, help facilitate annual planning with IT Infrastructure leaders for functional areas, advising on trade-offs, helping budget for priorities and alignment opportunities.
Provide oversight and produces recommendations, and execute tactics to deliver requirements within budget
Identify appropriate relationships in conjunction with internal customers and vendors to drive proper alignment on business and operational topics.
Serve as first point of contact to internal IT partners to answer contract-related inquiries and raise as appropriate to sourcing teams.
Track the health of key vendors and effectively communicate risk to key partners
Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!
7+ years of experience, including 3+ years working with international technology vendors managing complex contract terms and vendor relationships
Proven success in standing up an IT VMO function at a dynamic, rapidly scaling, global company.
Program management experience in relation to supporting IT Service or IT Outsource providers
Seasoned in reviewing, drafting, redlining, and negotiating a variety of technology-related agreements, including SOW's, POC's, order forms, amendments, etc. while maintaining tight coordination with Legal, Finance, Procurement/Sourcing, IT, and vendors required
Effectiveness in partnering and participating in establishing internal vendor governance framework, oversight, and performance strategy including, trending and reporting on key KPI's to maximize operational value and minimize operational risk
Proven ability to drive outstanding employee performance and engagement through developing, mentoring, motivating, energizing, and inspiring team members
Demonstrate expertise with analysis of payment conditions, contracts, and documents.
Vendor market knowledge of IT products and services (hardware and software) and current strategies
Ability to review and draft operational aspects of technology-related agreements (SOW/POC) in partnership with Strategic Sourcing
Ability to work with Sourcing to create financial models on potential technology deals; assessing various models and trade-offs; ability to advise leaders based on financial analysis
History of cultivating relationships with colleagues and vendor representatives; has strong capability to build trusted working relationships, act as trusted advisor and influencer among peers and leaders
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present and advise senior leaders

BS or MS in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience required
