Position Summary

The Sr. Account Manager works with the Executive Director, Account Lead, and Senior brand leaders to develop and execute the strategic vision for MAC in ULTA, driving sales growth and profitability omnichannel. Serves as the brand’s key point of contact for the retailer, communicating and coordinating ULTA needs within MAC, working most closely with Retailer Dot Com, Visual Merchandising and Trade Marketing. The Senior Account Manager must possess a deep understanding of retailer and local market nuances to help set overall account strategy.

Key Roles and Resposibilities

This person must have exemplary relationship management skills and will support all areas of the MAC business at ULTA, ensuring flawless operations in stores and on Dot Com.

  • Analyze weekly sales, identifying trends and programming opportunities; recap all promotions to inform future programming

  • Complete all new launch setup and 360-degree activation planning; manage and update the MAC Brand Plan

  • Execute seasonal programming, including secondary placements and promotions

  • Manage assortment and initiate all regular visual merchandising updates; run productivity analysis

  • Manage field team communications and coordinate education efforts

  • Set and manage the Department’s budget

  • Negotiates seasonal stock & sales plans with input from Account & Sales Planning

  • Brief and manage traffic for all print advertising and digital marketing creative

  • Program GWPs and sampling to drive new member acquisition and return to brand

  • Owns key P&L items for account and determines spend to maximize ROI and sales; held to seasonal targets (retail sales, net sales, demo, co-op, promo, GWP, sets, capex) and shapes the execution of these items at the Retailer


  • Undergraduate degree required

  • Minimum 7 years’ related experience, preferably in Beauty or Consumer Packaged Goods and/or Retail

  • Strategic; focuses on the issues driving material differences in the business

  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; able to analyze sales and programming effectiveness

  • Deep understanding of retailer and local market nuances to help set overall account strategy that guides category priorities, marketing campaigns, assortment, merchandising, promos/GWP/sets, events and all other parts of the business

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Proficient in all MS programs. i.e Word, Excel, PowerPoint
