What you’ll be doing

Experian Marketing Service’s stated mission is to accelerate customer success through agile, secure, privacy-first platform-centric enablement of our unique global data, analytical and technology solutions across a broad array of client / partner ecosystems. Our senior management team is currently seeking an experienced sales leaders with an exceptional industry track-record, proven skills and an unwavering passion to attract, coach and retain a team of high-performing, sales professionals across our retail vertical. As the successful candidate, you’ll be instrumental in leading the charge with some of the industry’s absolute best talent in a business experiencing significant investment, undergoing rapid change and achieving continued double-digit growth.

We are looking for a seasoned sales leader who will contribute to our business culture with strong character, commitment to excellence, and a proven track record of high performance results selling AdTech / MarTech/ Data solutions to large retail clients. The optimal candidate will show an ability to source, manage and grow long-lasting executive relationships while developing, executing and evolving strategic growth plans for a team that aligns with our core business strategy to achieve stated financial goals and exceed client expectations. This leader will lead a team of high-performing sales executives focused on optimizing our retail clients’ purchase, deployment and utilization of Experian data, identity, activation and measurement solutions across the advertising / marketing ecosystem. You will be responsible for managing the entire retail  vertical client portfolio, understanding your team’s strategy, targets and objectives, accurate forecasting, and management reporting to ensure we exceed all committed business goals.  You will work with other sales leaders and cross-functional team leads to ensure we bring the absolute best Experian has to offer to every client every day.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Advertising Clients and works closely with Experian Senior Leadership.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the overall Retail vertical sales strategy, planning and execution within Experian Marketing Services

  • Protect the core client business while driving significant revenue growth and core product adoption across both existing and new clients

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of highly seasoned and motivated sales individuals to surpass revenue goals and expand new growth areas such as Retail Media Networks

  • Guide the creation of persuasive presentations and narratives to clients that demonstrate the value of Experian’s offerings.

  • Develop and implement best practices for client interactions, prioritizing high-impact opportunities to scale

  • Be the internal advocate for the retail vertical across Sales, Product, Strategy and Marketing, ensuring Voice of Customer feedback and ideas are taken into account for all GoToMarket activity

  • Partner on team activities with core internal business functions – Finance, Operations, Legal, and Compliance

  • Maintain core operating rhythms and ensure sales excellence across the team through accurate pipeline and revenue reporting

  • Identify best practices and scale insights throughout the retail vertical

What your background looks like

  • BS/BA or equivalent experience is required, MBA or advance degree preferred

  • 5+ years management experience

  • 10+ years sales experience within the retail industry including proven experience managing and driving complex, high-growth enterprise strategic client relationships

  • Track record of exceeding goals, both as individual contributor and a team leader

  • Fluency in digital marketing, advertising technology, consumer/business marketing data + identity, activation and measurement services

  • Demonstrated acumen of the Marketing, Digital Media and AdTech/MarTech ecosystem

  • Significant book of existing client relationships with senior executives across brands, agencies, platforms

  • Ability to analyze complex data and present industry-specific customer insights to clients through quarterly business reviews and executive briefings

  • Mastery presenting clear and concise data-driven business strategy to C-Suite executives (internal and external) Proven self-starter with exceptional focus/tenacity and demonstrated ability to create leads and nurture complex, executive-level relationships

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple fast-moving projects

  • Ability to travel – approx. 25-50% of time
