Distinguished Programs Senior Software Engineer in New York, New York

We are looking for a dynamic, team oriented, hands-on Senior Software Engineer to be a key member of the application development team. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, and testing development projects as well as enhancing the existing integrations between the different applications.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, and implement integrations between different applications.  

  • Manage assigned workload including individual projects, assigned activities on larger projects and enhancement/support tickets.  

  • Participate and/or manage sprints.  

  • Apply innovative new technologies to improve the technology platform.  

  • Support, troubleshoot and maintain software applications. 

  • Participate in design and code reviews.  

  • Work with business users to clarify and understand requirements.  

  • Develop and maintain documentation. 

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree. 

  • 5-7 years of development experience in Microsoft stack including but not limited to .Net, ASP.NET, C#, SQL, and Azure.

  • 5-7 years of technical lead experience in integrations and web services (SOAP, WSDL, Windows Communication Foundation, REST).  

  • 2-4 years experience in relational database including knowledge of reporting services, preference is SQL.  

  • Skilled and hands on at using data structures (XML, JSON).

  • Front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, Angular or React. 

  • Knowledge working with API Management and proven experience in designing/implementing Microservices and RESTful APIs.

  • Insurance Company systems and processes preferred or financial services experience.

  • Experience in SDLC (Waterfall and Agile techniques). 

  • Solid understanding of clean code principles, software design patterns, and best practices.

  • Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.     

  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.

  • Works well in dynamic team environment and has a positive attitude. 

  • Ability to keep pace with changing software technologies. 

    COMPENSATION AND PERKS

  • $150,000 - $175,000 base salary plus yearly cash bonus. Salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
