Position Summary:
Lead SiriusXM to a world class uptime and performance operational stance, while harmonizing operations across different aspects of the SiriusXM business. Drive synergies across Satellite, Broadcast Operations, and Streaming, while ensuring smooth operations and crisp incident responses. Works with Engineering to optimize software release strategy and execution through Program Management. Develop expert tier 2 Technical Operations team for 24x7 coverage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Operations & Program Management function and team of Technical Program Managers at multiple levels.
Manage "program/feature" dependencies across multiple teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders.
Ensure customer-facing technical documentation is up to date and contains critical level of detail for seamless onboarding and integration
Lead cross-functional meetings with key Product, Engineering, Science and Business stakeholders for each program to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues.
Be the key driver to ensure business goals are met and support the strategic vision of each program.
Organize, facilitate and evolve weekly leadership meetings to encourage productive dialogue and discussion.
Create and maintain master project schedule in partnership with team leads.
Ensure all project tasks have clear owners (dev and non-dev) and that timelines from inception to roll-out are understood and have clear drivers.
Project manage cross-functional initiatives and/or support major platform areas.
Serve as the single point of contact for project information & status.
Forecast risks before they arise - "canary in the coalmine."
Refine a seamless resource planning process, including current and new systems, tools and organizational support, that provides transparency to all stakeholders for short- and long-term allocation. This function identifies resources gaps and potential risks, and ensures each project is optimally staffed for success.
Document and communicate a resource planning framework that includes the following areas of focus: Roadmap planning process (dates and steps from start to publish), Status reporting and stakeholder communications, Standard live operations (support, release process, cadence and documentation).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages a team of Technical Program Managers and Technical Operations Support professionals.
Minimum Qualifications:
15+ years of management consulting, large scale program management, engineering and/ or product management leadership experience
7+ years of management experience
Ability to build trust with executives and internal/external stakeholders of all levels.
Strong written communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.
Detail-oriented organizational and process management skills to manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities.
Sharp business judgment, ability to see the "big picture" and to prioritize.
Executive presence.
Ability to manage change and ambiguity with an action-orientation/drive - must thrive in a dynamic environment.
Strong work ethic, disciplined execution skills, willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver results.
Requirements and General Skills:
Strength in building partnerships; working collaboratively in a matrix environment, with proven influencing skills.
High degree of financial acumen - proven track record of planning and executing on the financial aspect of deliverables
Can roll up their sleeves and get hands-on to implement and use project management tools that enable success
Experience with Agile development
Collaborative by nature, quickly and easily builds relationships, ensures open dialogue, engenders trust and partners well within a team to deliver results
Entrepreneurial, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity and bias for action.
A good sounding board for others, with low ego, and ability to anticipate the needs of a busy executive and his/her direct staff.
Ability to understand technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program.
Strong organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.
Ability to manage/juggle competing priorities without loss of efficiency.
Experienced with setting up processes to improve engagements between Technology, Product and cross-functional groups (i.e. has led process development within a central product and engineering organization)
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.
Experience with Program Portfolio Management.
5+ years' experience (strategy consulting or brand strategy preferred)
Proven track record of working closely with C-suite/VP-level management while also influencing across multiple levels and functions of an organization
Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects successfully
Ability to dive into any area of the business or product, understand business needs, and facilitate executive decisions
Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
Technical Skills:
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.
Experience with Program Portfolio Management.
Seasoned expert with typical Project management tools such as Jira, Smart Sheet, Excel etc.
