Senior SDET (Advisory) – Test Innovation and Automation

Most of our projects are built in Java but you will also be exposed to different technologies including web (Angular, React, etc), other languages (.NET, python, etc), web/microservices and databases. A key part of innovation is using the right tool for the job so you’ll always have opportunity to learn and leverage new technology as it comes out such as machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and data analytics.

The opportunity:

You have the opportunity to become a thought leader and change agent by applying your technical skill and innovative thinking to help our clients succeed. You must stay on the leading edge of technology and use it to create bespoke solutions to solve problems for our clients. Specifically, your mission will be to design, build, deploy and customize complex technical solutions to accelerate and streamline software application delivery and system integration projects. Our clients look to us to solve their problems not just deploy software they could do themselves so this means you’ll be expected to build custom frameworks, tools and utilities such as custom automation drivers, JSON and XML parsers, integrations between tools and extend existing frameworks to provide new, cutting edge technologies.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead teams through the technical design, build, implementation and operationalizing complex technical solutions. You will need to ask better questions to truly understand our client’s “why” and develop better answers by drawing on your experience in consulting and technology.

  1. Create and articulate innovative solutions that add value to our clients and differentiate EY

  2. Be a champion for our thought leadership and leading capabilities internally and externally

  3. Develop relationships and communicate effectively with client peers and executives

  4. Look beyond deliverables to understand client needs and pain points

  5. Lead US and global teams of 2 – 10 members in client projects

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and approximately 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Passion and interest for solving problems using technology

  • Seeing problems as challenges and opportunities, not roadblocks

  • Technical experience with all aspects of the software lifecycle including design, architecture, development and testing

  • Experience in creative solutions leveraging easily accessible technology (cloud provider offerings, open source technology and common technology tooling)

  • 3 years of experience and strong knowledge in Java and OOP concepts

  • Common Java libraries and concepts such as linked hash maps, serialization, polymorphism, etc

  • Design principles (such as SOLID) and architecture best practices

  • At least 2 years of experience in consulting

  • client relationship building and becoming their trusted advisors

  • executive communication

  • At least 2 years of experience in test automation

  • automation strategy, approach and solutioning

  • test automation using tools such as Junit, Selenium, RESTAssured

  • At least 2 years of experience with at least 3 of these concepts:

  • Design, implementation and usage of complex test automation frameworks

  • Data querying (Example: SQL)

  • Data analytics and statistics (variant distribution, data sampling, trend analysis, predictive modeling or forecasting)

  • Any sub-area or use case of Artificial Intelligence (machine learning, natural language processing, etc)

  • CICD implementations and tools (example: Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab)

  • Working knowledge in web technologies such as Angular, React, HTML/CSS, etc

Ideally, you’ll also have

Post-COVID, we would expect for you to be available to travel outside of your assigned office location up to 50% of the time, plus commute within the region. Successful candidates must work in excess of standard hours when necessary. A valid passport is required
