As a seasoned Solutions Architect in the Platforms Transformation organization, you’ll have an opportunity to be part of a dynamic work group and be responsible to provide the technology direction for our own data migration platform development, and overarching integration solutions supporting MassMutual’s multi-year platform transformation and policy migration program.
What success looks like:
Building a state-of-the-art cloud data migration platform (primarily on AWS cloud infra) and supported utilities for executing MassMutual’s policy migration program.
Integrating MassMutual’s platforms, systems, and business processes with internal and external book of record systems.
Demonstrating mastery in industry standard integration architecture principals and patterns, and their best practices – real-time events based, API/microservices led, and other integrations and their applicability.
Displaying technology leadership in defining tech capability, solutions roadmap, and end-state and transition-state solutioning to direct various implementation teams.
As a solutions architect, collaborating effectively with data architects and engineers who are responsible for implementing data pipelines & repositories, data management, and analytics.
Own architecture and solution roadmap and provide technical leadership to multiple engineering teams including adherence to the solution architecture.
Conceive, design, and establish a sound Software Architecture towards building our flagship data integration platform that improves efficiency and automation of policy migration initiatives.
Enhance our flagship data platform by provide data solutions architecture and metadata-based data processing design. Define frameworks to perform batch/ETL, real-time streaming integrations, and data quality measures with cloud-first approach.
Architect and build microservices and implement API’s & abstractions towards API-led integration - overall solution is composed of scalable and performant reusable components.
Proactively assess the current state of technology and identify gaps & overlaps; recommend technology investment & rationalization; and conduct technology assessment & selection.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture (EA) to define and maintain the target operating model for delivery, including technologies, tools, and patterns; and further the strategic vision.
Partner with Development Teams to translate architecture to design/code-level execution.
Partner directly with the specific technology subject matter experts and technical leads to ensure architecture standards are adopted and solutions are aligned with enterprise Technology stacks.
Lead and facilitate system design and architectural activities in support of design reviews and decisions.
Work in a team-based environment including a global workforce, vendors, and third-party contractors.
Supports project manager/release manager by developing detailed project information such as high-level solution designs, estimates, evaluation criteria and results, etc.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical field of study
8+ years software design & development experience, with 4+ years of relevant experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role that focuses on technical solution design and implementation.
Expert in designing large enterprise-grade applications, with strong experience in industry standard systems integration patterns.
Strong experience in Big Data technology stack like Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, EMR, NoSQL/MongoDB, and AWS Cloud database, compute, and application integration services.
Strong experience with event streaming design and implementation using Kafka, along with web service protocols and patterns like SOAP, REST, JSON, XML/XSDs.
Experience with REST API for data interchange and API-driven systems integration decoupling digital and backend systems.
Experience with data development, including database schema design, broad knowledge of ETL landscape, and understanding of data management process and data quality measures.
Experience in Public Cloud platforms (preferably AWS), solution design and development using Cloud-native services, and understanding of cost rationalization.
Deep understanding of data structure, algorithms, and systems performance-optimization techniques.
Ability to effectively work in and navigate a matrixed, multi-vendor organization.
Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level.
Strong domain experience in Financial Services or Life Insurance industry
Comfortable working with Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps deployment pipeline (Jenkins).
Experience with Graph databases (Neo4J, Neptune)
Knowledge of data governance and data protection.
Experience with Automated testing (NUnit, JUnit, Jasmine) framework.
Familiarity with insurance industry data standards like ACORD.
Excellent mentoring skills and the desire to contribute to efforts beyond the scope of the day-to-day project work.
Salary Commensurate to Experience:
120,000.00 - 180,000.00 USD Annual
