Description of the group:
The Global Spread Products (GSP) securitized products trading business is actively involved in the origination, securitization, and secondary trading of a variety of mortgage and asset-backed securities. They operate in three major regions: North America, Europe and Asia. The primary products include residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, credit cards, auto loans, and student loans. The GSP Front-office Technology team builds and supports cutting edge and robust technology solutions that allow our business users to gain a competitive advantage. This technology team focuses on building applications that allow trading desks to manage their positions, price some of the most complicated financial products in the market and perform prepayment/cash flow/scenario analysis to hedge and risk-manage their positions. The team, comprising of seasoned technologists and business domain experts, works closely with the traders, risk managers, quants, research analysts and senior management to identify market opportunities and deliver solutions using Agile development principles.

The Global Spread Products (GSP) Technology securitized products group is looking for a strong Java developer to enhance and support a suite of applications and scripts used by the Agency and Non-Agency Mortgage desks to manage their positions and portfolio risk, price their inventory, manage customer flows and derive market intelligence from internal and external data sources . This person will work closely with the traders, salespeople, and business analysts to understand the business’ needs and build solutions to support new instruments or functionality. In addition, this person will work to automate processes and reports that are part of complex workflows to manage enterprise risk, regulatory commitments, and back-office processing. The candidate will be required to communicate with multiple teams, prioritize requirements and escalate risks and execution to management and stake holders appropriately.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field, Master’s degree preferred
3-5 years of total IT experience with strong server-side and services development
3+ years of experience with Java Development
Experience with the Linux environment including scripting skills
SQL Server experience with ability to analyze and resolve performance issues
Experience in one of the middleware technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or TibcoEMS
Familiarity with DevOps technologies such as Jenkins, uDeploy, Docker, Openshift and Kubernetes
Familiarity with Distributed Caching frameworks such as Redis, Gemfire or Apache Ignite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Ability to work as part of a small team and independently as required
Nice to Haves:
Fixed income business knowledge
Knowledge of Python
Experience with Test-driven (TDD) or Behavior-driven (BDD) development
