What We Need:

Shutterstock is hiring a Sr. Director of Growth to lead our newly formed Growth product team and report directly to our VP, Product for Marketplace. Growth's mission is to help creators and communicators discover Shutterstock and connect to the value of our product regardless of where they are in their journey.

As our Product Growth leader, you will be responsible for defining our product-driven growth strategy, coordinating and executing roadmaps, and optimizing our user lifecycles to meet Shutterstock's aggressive immediate and long-term goals. Working throughout the funnel, you will understand all aspects of our customer journey and work to improve all steps in the funnel, identifying bottlenecks, areas of prioritization, and increasing personalization.

The Day to Day

Inspire, grow, and mentor a high-performance product team of SEO, experimentation, and data product managers and group product managers to continually experiment and improve how we acquire, activate, engage, retain, and win-back customers while maintaining our users' trust.

Define our Growth product vision, strategy, and playbook, achieving best-in-class success and business results.

Create an environment that fosters rapid, metrics-driven experimentation, evangelizes learnings, and delivers meaningful improvements to our distribution, UX, and business outcomes.

Influence teams across Shutterstock, including Product Management, Engineering, Business Intelligence, Design, Sales, Research, Product Marketing, and Performance Marketing.

Facilitate decision-making across cross-functional engineering and design teams, ensuring on-time and accurate delivery of product features that drive aggressive user and business growth.

Partner closely with UX, Research, and BI to surface new opportunities and insights, define hypotheses, generate problem statements, identify KPIs, and deliver convincing product recommendations to product leaders and the executive team

Work cross-functionally to define and implement growth models that pinpoint and improve key levers within the product.

Anticipate growing pains, and effectively scale the team and processes to support our growth.

Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.

Mentor Group Product Managers and product managers to help them in their career growth and development in a positive yet constructive environment.

Be a purveyor of the Marketplace team's mission, values, process, standards, and user-driven approach.

Extensively post GIFs and emojis throughout Slack channels.

What You Bring to the Role

8+ years of experience in a mix of growth and product management with hands-on experience in executing a product roadmap for consumer products

Experience managing, mentoring, recruiting, leading, and retaining high-performing product managers (direct reports) to achieve audacious goals while maintaining positive company culture. You have the desire to teach and coach your team so they reach their full potential.

A Growth Playbook to test, learn and impact Shutterstock's growth

Experience working in agile product development environments and with flexible approaches to project management.

Experience scaling acquisition, activation, retention, conversion, and re-engagement improvements throughout the funnel while maximizing lifetime value.

Strong consumer instincts and user experience intuitions; ability to discern seamless UX from poor UX and to empathize with users. You're able to advocate for the consumer and think like a marketer.

Excellent analytical skills and an aptitude for data-driven decisions. You can combine critical thinking with data and sound qualitative judgment to guide the team to the right conclusions and decisions.

A track record of partnering with cross-functional leadership to shape the growth strategy.

Advocating for the latest tools and best practices, and always striving to make processes more efficient and effective.

Demonstrated history of being a team player, and have the desire to jump in and get your hands dirty as needed.
