POSITION TITLE: Senior Director, Raw Materials

BUSINESS/ORGANIZATION: Calvin Klein Supply – Technical Services

POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, Supply – Calvin Klein

LOCATION: 501 7th Avenue

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Director of Raw Materials is responsible for leading end to end development of fabrics that fit the aesthetics and financial requirements for the brand with the best supply partners that will ensure sustainable global growth for PVH. Manage global raw material team to support Calvin Klein North America Sportswear business.


  • Define and execute an end to end Raw Materials vendor sourcing strategy, both mid and long term supporting the overall souring strategies for finished goods.

  • Strategize and socialize sustainability and circularity initiatives.

  • Lead the Raw Materials global team, seamlessly connect the pre seasonal developments (design facing) with the in season executional (mill facing).

  • Develop fabric line plan tools to track and managing / focusing development.

  • Responsible to identifying process/development opportunities then strategizing and implementing solutions.

  • Lead cross functional communications with Design, Brand Merchandising, and end to end supply partners on all Raw Material strategies.

  • Partner with Supply planning to stage and platform core materials. Support speed and agility models for Raw materials.

  • Explore opportunities to verticalize the supply base in manufacturing country of origin.

  • Lead the global RM team to seamlessly connect the design facing pre-seasonal developments with mill facing bulk execution.

  • Calibrate vertical vendors and mills to Calvin Klein North America design and quality expectations.

  • Coach, lead and inspire the Raw Material and Trim team’s.

  • Create Team goals and objectives annually to challenge the team driving improvement, productivity and engagement, whilst aligning to Global strategies.

  • People management to develop careers and engagement throughout the department as well as interaction with other silos of the cross functional team.

  • Lead design team’s raw material selection (knit and woven categories only; does not include underwear or performance wear).


Experience: 15 – 20 years’ experience in Raw Material development - with expert level knowledge of KNITS and WOVENS

5 year’s min in a management role

Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or similar in related field.

  • Raw Materials end to end Raw Materials project management

  • 30% Raw Materials technical; 70% Leadership, cross functional communication

  • 50% strategy; 50% execution

Internal Partnerships (not inclusive of all): Sourcing teams, Design, Brand Merchant, Overseas sourcing Lead’s, Innovation team, Strategy Team, PVH Corp RM leveraged roles.

External: Mill’s, Garment Factory’s


Direct: NY based RM Director and team, Overseas RM Directors and teams

Indirect: Sourcing teams, PDA team’s, Tech Design teams

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Fiscal Year travel budget for Raw Materials and Trim team

DECISION MAKING: Talent decisions for Raw Materials team; Seasonal Fabric developments; Quality override’s if escalated.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: Ability to influence internal and external resources / partners; Create positive intent and encourage positive outlook during times of change and uncertainty.

ENVIRONMENT: Office based, 10% travel to overseas office’s / mill’s / factories.
