In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas:

Human Centered

You'll lead sourcing and synthesis of customer discovery efforts to understand customer needs to drive the long term vision for your product

You'll turn these customer insights into actionable strategies that will define the priorities for your team and rally your stakeholders to your vision

Business Focused

You'll own and prioritize the long-term (12-18 months) product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, working closely with a cross-functional team to ensure that all the right resources are aligned to ensure that and your team will be successful

You'll define KPIs for your product and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures, with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates

Technology Driven

You'll have an end-to-end understanding of your product and how it fits into the larger ecosystem to be able to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business

You'll work closely with tech leadership and architecture to understand the tradeoffs of technical decisions and how they impact the ultimately customer experience your team will deliver always looking to ensure you're using the best tool for the job

Transformational Leadership

You'll rally your teams and senior stakeholders to your product vision and proactively leverage relationships throughout the ecosystem to align to your vision and influence prioritization across partner teams

You'll be responsible for attracting and retaining top talent to your team and mentoring and developing associates on their product career

Our team is chartered to redefine how every associate at Capital One produces and consumes data.

We are using open source and custom-built streaming technologies while building user experiences that simplify the creation and consumption of data.
For this team, Capital One is looking for a seasoned Senior Product Manager to own and drive strategic initiatives for our data publishing platform and associated user experiences. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, design, and internal customers while working on next-generation platform capabilities that drive both real-time and batch use cases. Your focus will be on the seamless user adoption of this platform including registration and publishing data sets so a real customer empathy for the end to end user experience is critical.

In your role, you will be responsible for:

Understanding user needs and requirements for Business and Data Analysts, software developers and data scientists who leverage our platform as well as communicating those needs crisply and succinctly to technical and executive audiences

Strong product management and stakeholder management discipline for multiple agile teams

Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives to maximize customer value and ensure successful product launches

Working with geographically distributed (ET/PT) teams to translate those needs into clear priorities, a compelling roadmap, and high-impact platform capabilities

Evangelizing the platform and developing relationships across our lines of business

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 5 years of experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

MBA or Master's degree

3+ years of experience in Agile product management

Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City

- $188,814 and $222,758 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
