Shutterstock Sr. Product Marketing Manager, B2B in New York, New York

The Opportunity:

At the heart of the product culture at Shutterstock, we are creatives that take pride in serving creatives. We believe in a collaborative, cross-functional working style where departments bring their diverse experiences and expertise together to uniquely understand our customers' needs. This nuanced understanding is foundational to our ability to develop innovative solutions to longstanding problems.

Great products are built by deeply understanding our market and our customers - who they are, what motivates them to buy, why they behave the way they do, and what they think of our brand, our products, our services, and the overall market. Adoption of great products/experience requires product-market fit as well as effective positioning, and the ability to successfully create and implement a cross-functional plan.

What we need:

We are currently dreaming up some innovative products in the rapidly growing field of AI and computer vision. Before we can bring our ideas to market, we first need to understand who our customers are, how they work, who they work with, how they feel about our products, how to make the experience valuable, and how to win their hearts and minds.

This is where you come in. We are looking for an experienced B2B product marketing leader who loves taking on new challenges and scaling marketing programs from the ground up. You'll influence the product roadmap through data and customer insights, train internal teams on how to sell our new products, and launch marketing campaigns to drive revenue and growth.

In this highly entrepreneurial role, you'll bring people together around a shared vision. You understand how to turn technical topics into aspirational stories and are an expert at crafting strategic plans, messaging, marketing collateral, competitive intelligence, sales materials and thought leadership content.

The day to day:

Lead the development of product positioning and messaging that differentiates the product in the market

Plan the launch of new/evolved products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan

Develop a deep understanding of AI and computer vision, and help influence the product roadmap to meet nuanced customer needs

Work with the product, sales, and research teams to become the expert on the customer journey

Establish trust and build confidence with cross-functional partners and executive leadership in Product, Sales, and Marketing

Extensively post GIFs and emojis throughout Slack channels.

What does the first six months look like?

Dive in deeply to customer and market research and quickly get up to speed on the existing product roadmap

Develop product positioning and compelling messaging that resonates with target personas, verticals, and segments

Develop go-to-market strategies for launching new products and manage cross-functional implementation and measurement of plans

Ensure that comprehensive marketing plans are developed for new products that align with strategic goals for driving awareness, lead generation, pipeline and revenue, cross-sell / upsell, etc. Work with content marketing, demand generation, and sales to plan integrated campaigns in support of business goals

Develop training materials that enable sales to effectively sell new products on day 1. Work with content marketing to develop sell sheets, pitch decks, case studies, and other materials that support sales enablement.

What you bring to the role:

You have 5+ years of experience in a B2B product marketing role

You have demonstrated success and passion for collecting and using customer and market insights to drive strategic decisions

You are a great storyteller

You are a self-starter, comfortable working across multiple functions to get things done

You love talking to customers and to sales teams

You are familiar with targeting enterprise audiences in a sales-driven environment

You have experience building campaigns from concept to execution across a broad range of marketing channels

You are comfortable getting hands-on, whether that's writing landing page copy, setting up email drips-anything a campaign might call for

You have a proven track record of building marketing programs from the ground up

You are a creative thinker that's always seeking out the best channels for reaching prospects

You roll with the punches and love bringing order when things get messy

You are passionate about testing and learning
