VMware Sr Product Owner, Application Modernization - Opportunity for Working Remotely in New York, New York

Ready to build? So are we!

The MAPBU Application Modernization team is looking for seasoned product owner to help support our customers as they go down the Application Modernization journey.

VMware is helping customers successfully modernize their legacy application and helping them in this journey via a modernization framework product called the Tanzu Application Modernization tool.

The tool has a built-in continuous app modernization engine that enables organizations to discover and analyze applications , recommend a modernization approach, and containerize suitable legacy applications.

Customers can leverage this to implement discovery of legacy apps built using Java/Java EE/.NET frameworks, get analytical insights to determine optimal placement of modernized apps and help with the actual modernization effort.

This role is a hands-on position where the product owner will not only be responsible for product management but also own the design, build and implementation of an operational framework that will help drive product roll out and adoption to our customers.

Tight feedback loops drive our processes. We value test-driven development, retrospectives, continuous integration, data-informed decision making, and working at a sustainable pace. We nurture psychological safety within teams and empower them to drive the changes necessary to obtain successful outcomes. We build software and solve problems collaboratively. Teammates are always accessible to lend a helping hand. The team is distributed around the US and India.

About you

You have seen the power of empowered, balanced teams and believe in Outcomes over Output (https://vimeo.com/206617354/a4f8a1f8e8) . You have strong product instincts, but more importantly have an appreciation for and understanding of data-informed decision making, lean startup, agile and user-centered design values, principles, and practices. You are excited by the user and business value that technology can unlock. You thrive in a complex ecosystem, collecting, sharing, and synthesizing input from many directions and enabling the teams that you work with to continuously deliver customer value. You believe in doing the right thing and doing what works. #TeamTanzu #VMwareMarketplace
