POSITION SUMMARY:
The Multiplatform Engineering organization, responsible for building and
supporting Paramount's public facing, award winning mobile apps and Web
sites around the world for leading brands in popular culture such as
Paramount+, MTV, Noggin, Comedy Central, and BET, is looking for an
experienced Sr. Software Test Engineer - Web. If you love to solve

Paramount is looking for a passionate, self-motivated Senior Software Test
Engineer to handle all aspects of testing (functional, performance, load,
security, etc.) for Paramount+ International Web platform. This individual
will be partnering with various teams (product, engineering, and quality) by
assisting with the development of processes and tools that allow the
organization to excel in its continuous software development initiatives. As
code is being delivered multiple times per day, test coverage and
automation is crucial in allowing product to deliver quick to market while
maintaining the high level of quality our consumers deserve across our
many diverse platforms.
IPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on product/project teams developing test plans, test cases and
automation scripts
- Operate in an agile software delivery methodology focused on testing new
features within an iteration and providing near immediate feedback to
engineers through test automation
- Work alongside and mentor junior test engineers to continuously improve
process and provide input into our internal training boot camps
- Partner with software engineering to design and develop tools and to assist
in continuous development initiatives
Perform load / performance testing where applicable
In addition to writing automated tests, role is required to perform MANUAL
testing to verify features in-sprint that may not be suitable for automation
- Contribute to and help maintain the testing framework for various types of
testing (functional, load/performance, security)
- Effectively communicate complex and/or difficult information to both
technical and non-technical audiences
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting many products on
varied release cycles
- Be flexible and willing to learn both independently and with other team
members
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :
JOB SKILLS :
- Strong knowledge of software quality practices and ability to learn & adopt
emerging concepts
Strong software development and technical architecture skills
Strong object oriented programming background and a passion for
scalability, reliability and reusable code
Experience in *NIX operating systems
Experience with version control systems (svn, git, bitbucket)
Experience with test tools (Selenium, Webdriver, Junit, TestNG, Appium,
Cypress etc)
- Proficient with continuous development tools and build tools (Jenkins,
Bamboo, etc.)
Experience with performance testing tools (jMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)
Experience working with cloud based architectures and tools (AWS,
Microsoft, Google)
Experience with Agile testing methodologies
Knowledge of proxy tools (Charles, Fiddler, Httpwatch)
Technical/working knowledge of information technology concepts, local and
wide area networks, content delivery networks, database theory, and solid
understanding on caching strategies
TDD and BDD experience a plus
Web video playback, encoding, live stream and similar concepts a plus
Self starter who can work independently
EXPERIENCE :
The ideal candidate would have a background in software engineering and is
seasoned in software quality best practices. Additionally the candidate should
have:
- 5+ years experience within a test engineering role working in an agile
environment
- 5+ years of developing test automation scripts using object oriented
frameworks in Selenium, Appium, Webdriver
- 5+ years experience with at least one of popular programming languages
(Java, C#, PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, Python). Experience in Java strongly
preferred
5+ years of website testing experience
3+ years experience testing and automation of APIs
3+ years experience of performance and load testing
2+ years of understanding and working experience with online advertising
2+ years working and testing with various online research and analytics
tools
2+ years working with offshore resources
Experience working with online streaming video experiences a plus
Experience in the Media/Entertainment industry a plus
EDUCATION :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related
discipline.
