Shawmut, a $1.5 billion leading construction manager, is seeking a seasoned marketing and business development leader to join its leadership team in New York Metro Region. Working closely with the Executive Vice President and Regional Lead and his core team, the right candidate will have 20+ years of experience in the construction, architecture, engineering or commercial real estate fields as she or he directs talented professionals in the implementation of strategies to meet Shawmut’s ambitious goals for profitable growth.

Reporting to the National Senior Director of Marketing and Client Acquisition, you will play a key role in overseeing the business development and marketing teams, determining regional, national, and global initiatives for organic and in-organic growth and driving sales growth.

  • Lead and direct the marketing team in Shawmut’s New York Metro Region toward the achievement of growth goals across all business sectors in the institutional, commercial, and luxury homes markets.

  • Lead and direct Shawmut’s business development professionals who are currently engaged in selling and securing $500 million in work throughout the NY Metro region.

  • Serve on New York Region Senior Leadership and National Executive Marketing and Strategy Leadership Teams

  • Develop and implement a strategy for revenue, profitability, market share, and brand presence.

  • Direct a vibrant pace of marketing programs and deliverables under tight deadlines.

  • Direct the team in the quality execution of a high volume of client submissions, interview preparation, and strategy meetings.

  • Direct and develop “win strategies” for pursuits.

  • Direct the implementation of SOP’s and best practices to ensure efficiencies.

  • Direct a strategy for an approach to client and partner firm meetings for network building.

  • Collaborate with public relations and communications teams to ensure maximum brand exposure for Shawmut in the region.

  • Direct the marketing specialists and managers, and event planning staff in the management and execution of regional client and project-related events.

  • Report at national monthly “all hands” marketing meeting, engaging with the team on ever-improving best practices and efficiency.

  • Represent Shawmut at industry events and conferences and philanthropic events.

  • Develop strategy and content for important in-house team-building meetings such as strategic off-sites and quarterly gatherings.

  • Direct the reporting, marketing analytics, and key metrics.

  • Lead the business development team in the generation of leads and market activity to position Shawmut for strategic opportunities.

  • Lead the business development team in an effective marketing program to expand the existing network of clients, key industry influencers and organizations to generate pipeline opportunities to meet annual revenue goals and position Shawmut in the marketplace.

  • Direct the business development support team in the development, implementation, and achievement of the annual sales strategy, including specific market initiatives.

  • Continually develop, direct, and implement process efficiencies.

  • 20+ years of proven experience in marketing, client services, and business development

  • 20+ years managing a marketing team in medium to large-sized companies

  • A/E/C or Commercial Real Estate industry leadership

  • A well-developed network in these industries

  • Master’s degree in business, marketing or communications

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies to achieve growth successfully.

  • This position is both an external and internal interfacing role. The individual will need to have a proven ability to network and collaborate with a range of stakeholders and partners

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and PhotoShop; PowerPoint and Collaborative Platforms

  • Submission of a successful sample piece in marketing, sales, strategy, brand, communications, or topic related to this position.
