This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Summer 2022 Structural Engineering Intern for our New York, NY office. Be involved in projects with our Structures Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.

  • Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering and become familiar with Revit.

  • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.

  • Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.

  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

  • Complete training on assigned tasks.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

  • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Current standing as a Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.

  • Prior related internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current standing as a Rising Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.

  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.

  • Local candidates preferred. Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
